Review Saffron - Austin

Had the Samosa Chaat and Vegetarian Paneer Thali (pictured). Both excellent - very nice level of seasoning, and filling. While the paneer was delicious, the vegan Thali in particular had a lovely eggplant dish that really shined. Great service too! Definitely recommend and will be back.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner and we all loved it- including my daughter who is only two years old. The staff was very friendly and our waitress Prakriti was incredibly sweet. Another thing I really appreciated was that the high chairs were clean, you rarely see that in any restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be going back as soon as possible!

A very good Indian restaurant which is worth testing and tasting! We tested several dishes and all of them were fresh made and tasty. If you are asked if you line hot food, keep in mind that what hot means for a truly Indian restaurant 😂. I did not cry but the food really was hot. The sauce of the chicken meat was both delicate and delicious. The only thing that did not match my best other Indian restaurant place was the nan. A special notice for the service: very good! Food quality: 5* Food taste: 5* Service: 5* Ambiance: 4* Quality/price ratio: 5*

What a pleasant surprise to find such good Indian food that’s not overpriced or made only for tourist palettes. This place has a great menu, so if you are looking for the typical Indian dishes, you’ll find them here. The magic is in trying out some of their other dishes! This time we tried the Goat curry and this is a can’t miss if you are dining here. The appetizers were good but comparable to other places (special mention to their delicious mint and tamarind chutneys) The Tikka was buttery and the spice level we chose (medium/hot) was great for those who like spicy food. Can’t wait to come back and try additional items!

This place was so delicious!! I got a Achari Aloo Lamb Curry and it was so good! It had potatoes and lamb mixed in with a tangy pickle-ish spicy curry, and let me tell you it was incredible!!! It was like a explosion of flavor in my mouth! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food and Nepali food :)

The food here is amazing. The employees want to help you as soon as you walk in. The place is clean, and you become so hungry as your nose welcomes all the yummy smells of food cooking. Addicted to the garlic naan, and this gal will never say no to Tikki Masala.

We were visiting Austin for a short trip and it was the only Indian restaurant with exceptional service and quality of food. The flavors were spot on and most importantly the service was so warm and friendly. A must visit in Austin. The owner went out of the way to make us feel comfortable and ensured that our spice tolerance was taken into account. My 3 year old loved the food there too and that is quite rare !!! 5 starts all the way đŸ™ŒđŸ’«đŸ™Œ

We can’t stop thinking about this food! We had the lamb kababs which were full of taste. I had the lamb rogan Josh and the lamb just melted in my mouth. My husband had achari chicken and loved it. We appreciated that the menu was so well labeled for gluten-free and vegan options. I didn’t have to worry about asking our waitress or getting something I shouldn’t. We will be back for sure because there are so many options to try.

OMG! The Gobi Manchurian was the BEST Gobi! Every dish we ordered was so delicious that now we don't have to go to downtown Austin! I'm from Long Island, NY and I wish Saffron would open a location near me in Port Jefferson.

This is an old review. We went there 2 years ago. This was on Thanksgiving and the only indian/pakistani halal restaurant that was open at that time. I remember it was the best experience and best food we had had. Initially, we drove to Austin from Houston for the oasis, but that was closed too, and not finding anything else, we found this open. And I was so happy at the end of it all. The lady who served us was very nice too. Overall, it was a great experience and great food.

What a great place for delicious Indian food. The staffs were friendly and attentive. Food are meeting our standards. We ordered Chicken masala and Korma in “hot”, and they’re surely spicy and tasty. Tandoori chicken had bone-in and boneless both on the hot plate. Overall, it was great dining experience. We will be coming back again! Highly recommended. (Ps. A friendly suggestion: the entire restaurant smelled like chlorine cleaning products... I appreciate they clean the place thoroughly, but I also hope they can ventilate more and more so when people walk in, it smell like a restaurant/food instead of a hospital)

This place treats customers really, really well. There was a hiccup with my pickup order which required me to wait a couple minutes in-store. No big deal at all, and yet the staff gave me an extra dessert to apologize for the (tiny) delay! It was a kind, neighborly gesture that totally won me over. Then I got back home and discovered that everything tasted absolutely delicious. The samosas... Y'all, the samosas. I'm officially a fan, and I'll definitely be coming back soon to explore the menu's multiple vegan options.

We wanted to try it for a very long time. Saffron name has not disappointed me so far and it continues 😊 we ordered lamb seekh kabab, saffron chicken lazeez and nan. It was amazing food. Loved both dishes. And hey they can make Indian đŸ”„ if you like. It is worth going

The good stuff is very *very* good. This tiny jewel of a BYOB serves some of the best Indian food in Austin. It's got a somewhat eclectic menu that doesn't really focus on a particular region, but does have the usual suspects (tandoori this, sag paneer that, etc.) The good stuff, as already mentioned, is very very good. The question tho' is "Which is the good stuff?", with the answer being "it varies". The only way to find out is to order a bunch-a things - some of which are most likely going to be great. Those items will continue to be great for a few weeks, when they mysteriously morph back into "ok, but not great", with something else taking over. Then again, this encourages experimenting, so maybe it's a feature?

Very hospitable people. Awesome customer service. Though they had closed for the afternoon, they accommodated us with a quick lunch fare and it was very tasty. Very smiling helpful on a tiring driving day

Wish I could give more than 5, for Momos. Love for momos pulled me to this place, and certainly not disappointed. Chowmein as well was good. I forgot to let them know to make it hotter. Tashi, the owner was humble and he asked for the opinion of each of the customers. Best Samosa in Austin, and totally worth the price. We ordered a lot and had to get to go.. A great place for Indian and Nepali food. As usual, this place never disappoints with anything. Be it food or service :)

Absolute excellence. I have tried a few different Indian food restaurants around Austin and this is hands down the best. I had the goat.

Food is average at best, lunch service was attentive but not to point. Just repeatedly asking if everything is okay is not good service folks. Anticipating customer needs and taking proper action based on the questions is good service... Wings is all I ate, rest of the food lacked any desirable taste, atleast to my pallet...

Although I've only been here for the buffet, the food was great and the staff friendly and willing to answer any questions. Unlike a lot of Indian restaurants, the food was not over spiced or salty. Their dishes were slightly different from other restaurants' dishes and overall better. I can't wait to come back and try their Nepali dishes and their desserts.

Great food and service with a lot of vegetarian options. BYOB but beer store is 100 feet down sidewalk. Nice waiter and manager.

Closed for the second Sunday in a row! It's hard to review your food when I can never get any!

Went there for the first time yesterday over dinner service and it was great. Probably one of the top two Indian food places in Austin. The service was great and friendly, and the food was exceptional.

We ate our first dinner at Saffron Indian Fusion tonight. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. We shared the broccoli and calamari appetizers, followed by the mixed grill entrée...wonderful flavors. We will be back soon!
