Review Lenoir - Austin

Carly Pisarri
I went on a Wednesday evening by myself and sat at the chef’s counter. I got the tasting menu + wine pairing. The service was definitely some of the best I’ve had during a tasting. I was never rushed to finish a glass if my dish was finished before the pour. I wasn’t a fan of the quail but everything else rang deep for me. I loved the dessert - a deconstructed take using squash purée as something sweet and that dish exceeded expectations. Thank you for having me!

Nicely presented terrace restaurant with friendly staff. The food was interesting and delicious. Some tasty cocktails too. Service was helpful, only downside was the speed, the food came out so quickly that it ended up feeling rushed, like they needed to get us in and out in record time. I like to enjoy a casual pace of dining so this was a little o.t.t.

The food was pretty good, but way overpriced for the amount we got. I didn’t realize until our server discussed the menu with us that this restaurant focused on small plates. We had the hush puppies, crab fingers, spicy peaches, and poached snapper.

All dishes ordered were great, service and atmosphere is top notch. Wagyu T Bone steak price is kind of high for what it is, and the cut we got have quite a lot chewy connective tissues.

We had great time! Food and Drinkd were delish! We sat outside /patio. Their food pushes the limit a bit so be prepared to taste new and unique food. Parking is definitely limited so plan accordingly.

Underrated gem in Austin. Never had a bad meal here; chef Duplachen is doing great work on both food and the wine offerings. Most recently went for Saturday HH and had the oysters, blue corn hush puppies, crab fingers, bruleed peaches with hatch chili granita, and the grilled summer squash salad (on the regular dinner menu). Also had the corn churro dessert. Absolutely loved the hush puppies, peaches, and squash. Service at the bar was fantastic. Ambience is perfect for a date night, both the wine garden in nice weather and the indoor area, which has a cute French bistro chic vibe.

Last minute decision to try this place out proved to be a winner. Eclectic menu with previously unheard of items(for us) proved to be delicious. We had the crab fingers, the shrimp toast and the red snapper. Would go back for the crab fingers alone, but the others were good attractions too. Small wine list but their by the glass selections were outstanding. I was particularly intrigued by the dessert wine list that featured several names I had never heard of. We were pleasantly surprised to try a volcanic Canary Island wine that was a perfect complement to the unusual but splendid cheesecake dessert. Definitely an to go back. Maybe next time try the Wine Garden. Don't be overwhelmed by cost-most of our expense was wine. The appetizers and entrees are reasonably priced for such an upscale menu.

Wonderful atmosphere and great but relaxed service. We were surprised by the quality of the food. We enjoyed every dish and when we complimented them on a dish, they took delight in sharing our comments with the kitchen staff. The waiter was knowledgeable about every dish, professional and friendly. The wine selection was on point. The Gateaux Basque desert was out of this world. One of the best experiences we had in Austin.

We had a lovely evening at the wine garden part of this restaurant. We were seated under a beautiful oak tree with lanterns hanging from the tree. There was also a more enclosed part of the outdoor seating and an outdoor bar. If you prefer indoor seating there is a small indoor area with air conditioning inside the main building of the restaurant. Service was excellent, our server was very attentive and well versed on the wine list and food menu. The menu is short and I believe it is constantly changing. However, all the items we had were really delicious and flavorful. I would recommend the crab fingers and the snapper. For dessert we had a Texas peach which was not super sweet but just right. I will definitely be coming back to try out more of the menu and wine list.

We decided to visit Lenoir to celebrate my wife's recent job success, and we had a great time! The wine selection was fantastic, and the vibrant ambiance added more enjoyment to our evening. We tried the stracchino toast, the blue corn + pecan hushpuppies, and the tempting special of the day: fried chicken. The toast and hushpuppies were delicious and had us wanting more even after we finished the serving. However, we were a bit let down by the fried chicken. It was overcooked, and the skin felt a bit burnt. Nevertheless, our overall experience was absolutely wonderful, and we're already planning our next visit to Lenoir.
