Review Cedar Door Patio Bar & Grill - Austin

I'm going to say my server was a bit overwhelmed. Was seated promptly and drink order taken but after that things slowed down. I asked for a straw and I got it after my meal arrived. It took a while for my server to come back and ask for my food order after bringing my beverage. Something was wrong with his hand held, so took a moment to take the order. I had to get the host to get me that straw. Once my food arrived there was a mix up on my dressing. Ranch vs blue cheese. I believe he brought me another straw at time we noticed the error with the salad. But again I'm going to say he was a little overwhelmed as a convention was going on this weekend. The server did however find a way to compensate for the error. I appreciated that gesture. Google said the place was less than busy however it was packed when I arrived and I got there within 2 minutes of my search. Made me wonder what did busy look like. My wings were smoked to perfection. I got the dry rub. Didn't like the rub. But that's a matter of taste. First time trying that so I can't blame the establishment benday my tastebuds didn't agree. My chicken had a nice smokey flavor under the rub. The salad was plentiful, leaves were fresh. I switched the wings to the saucer and that salad filled that rectangular plate and was piled high. I was very pleased with the amount. Also, every plate of food that went by me to other guest looked well prepared and appetizing. Looked liked the other guest really enjoyed their food and drinks. The establishment has a nice homey feel. Indoor and outdoor seating. I didn't feel rushed to eat, the staff were very polite from the host, bartender, and yes my server as well. I would definitely go again if I was in town and maybe try something else on the menu.

Just met chef Logan what a great job he is doing farm to table. We had salsa chips and queso omg the wife and I were throwing elbows to get the last couple chips after a cold beer. We ordered fish tacos fresh veggies lightly battered fish on a flour tortilla. Meanwhile the bartender Logan was so welcoming what a great time it is. A must try it was awesome. BTW locals go there.

The Dry Rubbed wings were amazing. The fish tacos were decent. First bartender wasn’t that nice, 2nd one was great!

I really enjoyed this establishment. The food was good, especially the crispy Brussel Sprouts. The service was good too. A great place to relax and enjoy the game too!

Great spot. This place was perfect for a late evening meal and drinks. The Tajin fries are spectacular. The white wings and the dry rub wings were perfectly seasoned and so good, especially with the blue cheese. I also got to try the fish tacos. The tacos were also good and had a nice kick. Staff is friendly, dress is casual and prices are fair.

Nice enough casual bar and grill. Lots of outdoor seating although on the evening I visited the outdoor area was really busy and bit noisy for me. There was some quieter areas inside! Ordering food and drinks is done at the bar and the menu is accessed through the QR code provided on the tables. The impossible burger I had was good but nothing amazing.

Their Mexican food is good. For someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest, Cedar Door had the typical saloon feel.

Was 100% better than I expected my experience to be. There was a super cute and nice patio outside. This is my first weekend in Austin and we were having trouble finding casual but with good food worth eating. We ended up here after being back and forth and hot…. Thighs a chafing and miserable. I just wanted to finally be somewhere cool. We walked in and it was cool but we were still hot so we thought the a/c must be broken. Not at all, we just needed to cool down for a moment and then it felt amazing! The food is order at the bar and you also pull the menu up using a QR code on the table. Ordering at the bar was painless. I got the brisket grilled cheese with regular fries since the other reviews states they were seasoned perfectly. They were right! If you’re on the fence definitely get the regular fries! Their ranch was also the ranch you hope all restaurants have…. Which is a big deal! So if you’re looking for good quality bar food with a twist at a good price, this is your place.

Cool place. Bartenders were personable and made great cocktails.

We used Cedar Door for a business dinner - they were incredibly helpful! They have an easy to use portal and are very responsive. The location was close to the Austin convention center so our guests could easily walk over. The team was polite, kind, and accommodating with our requests. We got compliments on the food all night as well. Thank you Patty and to the awesome bar staff!

Amazing food, ambiance was on point, and the staff was awesome and super friendly. The pork belly skewers were ridiculously good, completely beyond my expectations, and of course the Mexican Martinis were delicious!

Whenever i come into your restaurant Ceirra always gives a warm welcoming with a smile! Very friendly knowledgeable, professional and very helpful!!! Brussel sprout tacos were savory and delicious. Fish tacos just as good. Cesar salad was adequate. Great beer selection. Good service.

I am absolutely floored with the level of service we received at Cedar Door! Awesome Mexican Martini and incredible follow up from the management team when we lost a pair of sunglasses. So grateful, can’t wait to come back! Thank you yall!

Food was great!! And the service was amazing!!! Jacob was our server and was absolutely amazing!! We had a party of 8 and he was constantly attending to us and made sure we had everything we needed! Thank you so much Jacob for being amazing! If y’all visit definitely ask for him!

Came here for brunch and had some great chicken wings too. The beer selection is on point. They offer a patio for outdoor seating and a bar with indoor seating. We had Nicole as our bartender and she was super cool.

Was in town for a conference at JW Marriott. Walking the area looking for a place to have dinner and stumbled on this place. Very good food - had the brisket tacos. The waitress was not as attentive as she should have been - had asked for water but it never came. But that's a minor problem. Would definitely go back if ever in the area again.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Austin on a few occasions in the past few months, and stumbled upon the Cedar Door just out of sheer luck. I have eaten on the patio and at the bar, and both times the service was prompt and friendly, and the brisket tacos were simply fantastic. I will be back, very soon. :)

My husband and went to eat here for the first time and we will not return. First, our waitress took about 15 min just to approach us. Another waitress brought us our food and was the best service we had all night. We were never asked if we wanted another drink even though my husband crunched his beer can and it sat there for about 15 min. I asked for the check from our waitress, after she walked by us without even looking at us, and she said "Sure, who is your server?" We were not impressed at all.

Cedar Door has a great outdoor patio and the food is pretty good as well. They do have Tullamore Dew (Irish whiskey) - a big plus in my book. However, they don't have Canton (ginger liquore) that goes so well with TD. Overall a good pick for a happy hour downtown.

Very glad that we chose here to eat after an afternoon of being tourists. Great atmosphere, awesome food and our bartender {wish I could remember his name} was beyond outstanding. Highly recommend the Cedar Door for tourists or locals.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful evening on the patio. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese and he had the Reuben, both were delicious! I also highly recommend the pomegranate fizz! I definitely see us going back to this restaurant the next time we are in Austin!!

We were in town from Pennsylvania visiting our daughter, son in law and granddaughter and had a fantastic time with drinks and food on the patio. Great service and food.

Came in for a bite, turned us away and defecated on our arm services. I would recommend coming here if you are a libtard and enjoy poor service.

The mashed potatoes and collard greens were really good but the chicken fried steak was a little over cooked but had good flavor! Everyone was friendly and professional.

Friendly server. Best Mexican margarita. Great place to meet with friends and just relax.

The Chicken Fried Steak dinner with greens and mashed potatoes is to die for! Best greens I have ever tasted besides my own. We sat on the patio and had the Mexican Martinis and watched the game. Very nice atmosphere.

Love the Cedar Door! My favorite dish is the Southwest salad with smoked chicken. My sons' favorite dish is the s'mores ice cream dessert; they say it's "out of this world!"

Can't remember the type of peppers I had but they were f*cking awesome. Good service and beer selection. Good outdoor venue to watch MNF.
