If you are visiting Austin and want the “Austin experience” then I would suggest it.
Trendy and located right on south Congress makes for a east walkable pleasant experience.
The atmosphere is great however the place is small.
As for the sushi, it is good but wasn’t amazing as I thought it would be. They pride themselves on fresh quality sushi but just didn’t give me that authentic sushi feel. Maybe it’s because I’m from Houston and there are plenty of authentic sushi restaurant available there.
Overall great for a date night or a night out. I like the dumplings the best over anything we ordered. Service was great

Absolutely AMAZING sushi! The sushi was so light, the flavors were light, intentional, and fresh. Even the rice was next level!
This is the legit sushi you expect to have from Japan. It honors the fish and accentuates it. Nothing is hidden, it's not smothered in sauce. You are meant to taste every ingredient.
The brussel sprouts are a MUST. It will blow you away with the flavors.
The service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and they operate a bit uniquely. You have your main server, but literally everyone is ready to help and serve you. Alao, the kitchen operates on preparation/cooking time instead of ticket order, so dishes will come out in waves instead of all at once. For this reason, expect to enjoy your stay and the gorgeous atmosphere. It's best not to be in a rush. Due to the high quality in their fish, expect to pay for quality.

What an amazing experience and what a gem of a restaurant. We went there during happy hour and treated us with a nice bottle of white wine which was 50% off the regular price.
Amazingly welcoming staff, great and unique style and probably the best salmon sashimi I ever had in my life.
Considering that I live in Taiwan for some 15 years and that I am also traveling to Japan on a regular basis that's quite a statement :) Yes, it was pricy because the 5 slices of this aged salmon cost me around $60 but this was an experience I will never forget.

Really cool place with fantastic fish and a fun bar program. All of the food we had both cooked and raw were incredibly flavorful. The brussel sprouts were a real standout as an appetizer, and we were impressed with all of the nigri and maki we tried. The fish on top of the Voltron roll tasted very fresh and the sauces enhanced the flavor perfectly. Service was also great and our waitress was incredibly helpful in finding a perfect sake to go with our meal.

You start off with the most inviting and charismatic hosts who ease into your experience with a bit of lighthearted conversation and a great explanation on what’s to come.
Arriving completely clueless yet curious we were given the option of an “omakase”, a menu tasting meal for two.
After giving our server Dani a brief summary of our liking, we were given a personally curated meal that perfectly fit each of our palates.
The interior ambiance brought that current trendy Japanese approach which raises the bar for how comfortable you should feel when spending over $200 on a meal.

i went there to treat myself after several very difficult weeks in my life, which included a lot of being unable to eat. The service was amazing. I sat at the bar alone and delighted in some conversation with the chefs who are not just amazing food artists but who are also genuinely good people who could brighten anyone's mood. the experience had the self-care properties of a massage and nourished my body and soul, whatever that means.
I highly recommend the amberjack, and the trout. just an amazing pieces fish here in Central Texas, which doesn't make any sense. but it happens here every night it seems.

Love this restaurant! The decor is really cute and aesthetic. Staff was super friendly and the food was tasty. We had the ramen and the barbacoa dumplings. Both were hot and tasted great!

Place fills up quick. Got here around four on a Tuesday, and there was a wait in 30 minutes.

I loved their ramen and the rolls we tried. Also, the dessert was amazing. Giving them four stars because they made us wait 45 min having four empty tables. Those four tables remained in empty the whole time I was there.

Food is pricey but vv good. Everything tasted different than you expected, but in a positive way. Cool decor. Service was super slow, but they apologized and gave us the most insane wagyu dish. If u sit on the patio, be prepared to people watch and watch people watch you eat. But again, more pricey than you would expect.

Stellar food here. Service was top notch. If you’re unsure, absolutely lean on the servers for recommendations. They have great knowledge of the menu and can curate it to your tastes. FYI the focus here is the sushi,
But the drinks are excellent as well. While they may be batched cocktails, even a discerning palate will notice minimal differences. Will absolutely come back again - this place rocks!

Amazing vegan options!
My fiancé and I went here for one of our first dates 9 years ago. We continue to go, and we have a great experience every time! The atmosphere is so fun, and the vegan options are delicious.
If you go, get their vegan banana desert!
Last night, I got their vegan “at home curated experience”, and it was sooo fun! I’ve gotten it several times, and it’s always the best!
The presentation alone makes it so fun. All the food is so good, though! We got vegan appetizers, rolls, and dessert. The vegan dessert was my favorite part!

The food is fine. It won't wow anyone, but it's fine. The service, on the other hand, woof. It's one thing if your food takes a long time to get to your table, but it's an issue when none of the three people waiting on your table acknowledge it or offer to do anything about it. We were a party of two, by the way. One bowl, one sushi roll. Very weird. So, best of luck to this place in the future. I cannot recommend it to anyone.

This is one of the best restaurants that I've ever been to. They played good tunes and all of the staff was helpful, efficient, and friendly. Spicy edamame was good (sprinkle the spice though!), sushi was tasty, and the bowls are to die for! The veggies were insanely fresh and the sauces and meat had flavor for days! If you live in the Austin and have not been yet, go!

I had cold bourbon sake while I waited for my friends to arrive. It was somewhat unusual and it nailed the craving I had for sake. Go during happy hour and they have fairly cheap drinks.
My friends and I shared spicy edamame to start and I had the "build your own bowl" of tofu, seasonal veggies and thai coconut curry with udon noodles. I'm a vegetarian so my options are usually really limited when I eat out and I'm often disappointed. Not here! Everything was absolutely delightful. The flavoring on the edamame was so good I poured it on my main dish.
The staff are dressed really smartly and uniformly, with a tiny bit of funky flair in a unique blue bow tie. The location feels more casual than fancy and I think the uniform is a really nice touch. The staff are all really nice and helpful and seem pretty happy.
I'll definitely be back soon to try their vegetarian sushi roll if I can stand to not order the build-your own-bowl again!

They did have very tasty food. The sushi pieces were small, it was overpriced. I would have liked to have had a Sushi dinner option with 8-9 pcs, Plus a Salmon or Tuna roll.

We checked reviews first before coming in to this resto. Being new to Austin, I am not a fan of Maine root soda BUT food is sooo good, better than expected. Maybe because we are used to NY pricing that paying $60 with tip for 2 apps and a salad is ok. I highly recommend this place.

I would give a 5 star review if the food matched the vibe of this SoCo Sushi spot. Dont get me wrong. The morsels were tasty but they were morsels. A more substantial size roll for the price would warrant a higher rating. Between my daughter and I we ate 3 rolls, an "app" (appatizer) and the teriyaki chicken bowl. With tip our ticket was $65! Two of the rolls were apparently their best sellers. They were good not great. The teriyaki bowl was sooo good, though we wanted great sushi. The flash fried Brussel sprouts was a small bowl of tiny fried leafs with very little substance. We were looking for the Brussel sprouts? Bottom line is, I can find better sushi and walk the SoCo sidewalks for vibe. Lucky robot maybe. We were Not lucky humans this day. �

My husband & I are in our early 60’s & had never eaten sushi. Our son wanted us to try it. He had to do a lot of coaxing. We are so glad he did! It was scrumptious! Our waitress was very sweet as well as other employees that delivered food to our table.

I like the rolls, the bowls, and the waiters are very kind. The negative thing I view is that in the restrooms there’s not the changer thing for babies. I can’t change the diaper for my baby and I had to go.

Our first time here, my family and I were about to drive back home from out of town and we are so glad we made this stop to eat here. Our server was Amazing Grace , her service was fantastic and very knowledge on menu and recommendations. All staff members were very friendly and establishment was very clean.
