The Cutting Board

This unassuming hotel restaurant is a very pleasant surprise. The menu is interesting and the food was great! Definitely get the soup trio with grilled cheese - it's unique and fun! Wednesdays they have karaoke in the adjacent tavern so keep that in mind if you are expecting a quiet night. Be sure to check out all the cool old photos in the hotel for some local history.

Very disappointed with this restaurant. Our normal spot The Mason Jar had closed for the day so we tried this restaurant. Well we should have known it wasn't going to go well when we were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a margarita pizza. Both horrible. My sandwich was so dry. The chicken was dry and it didn't even come with lettuce or tomato. I had to ask for that. My sister ordered the pizza. It was terrible. Completely loaded with greasy cheese. A margarita pizza should only have a little cheese on it not heavy. It should have more tomatoes and basil than anything. The service was good and the waitress was nice but that's it. Don't bother coming here if you want mediocre food. Try the Mason Jar down the street from here. They have terrific food.

Service was great. Food was good and fairly priced. I had blackened fish tacos and she had blackened shrimp tacos. Nice amount of spice and tasty slaw that didn't overpower the fish. It's pretty noisy and lacks ambiance. We almost didn't go because the online reservation service they use indicated that no tables were available which was not the case at all. I told the manager and she said she would tell the owner. Also It's a little hard to find if you do not know that it is inside the Aurora Inn.

Service is slow at this restaurant even when they're not busy. We have visited multiple times, and it's a repeated problem. Often we have been seated and waited for a terribly long amount of time before anyone even acknowledged us or attempted to take our order. The staff are not very attentive and apparently not very well-managed. The food is very good, but they're ruining this restaurant with their poor service and terrible attitude towards guests. I can't emphasize enough how much we love the food but hate the service! Breakfasts are especially delicious whether you get the buffet or order something directly from the menu.

Website needs updated badly. The menu on the website is not the current menu. Ordered the charcuterie plate, had a nice variety of cheese. Garlic cheese spread (goat) was tasty. Crostini was stale though, and cheese to meat ratio was unbalanced; heavy on the cheese, skimpy on the meat. House wine was good, buffalo wings were tangy but skin was soggy. Spouse had a burger that was perfectly cooked to temperature. Atmosphere was very pleasant and service was great.
