Are we sure this is an actual restaurant? Lived here over a year and they never answer the phone (tried to call seriously, over 20 times) and we’ve even went in and they didn’t have any of the ingredients for a veggie combo during a time they said they were open. May just be a night club.

I did not eat there, but I went there for Saturday night Afro beats. IT WAS A BLAST...great South African and West african music. Good drinks and reasonable price. They also offer hooka. 10 bucks to get in.

This place has a great little club on Saturdays. Wonderful space and the boss of the restaurant just upgraded the upstairs. Definitely suggest people to come and check out this Old spot with a new face to it!

The new owners Simon and Henok are very respectful and hospitable. The bar have a good Variety of drinks and there is a hookah spot with a good selection of music downstairs. I really enjoyed hanging out with friends in this cozy place.

Terrible neighbors. Management should tell security to be nicer to neighbors who try to ask nicely for them to turn the bass down a little because they can't sleep at midnight on a weeknight. I live quite a few buildings away, and it doesn't usually carry as far as my building. But security was completely rude.

I’ve had a different experience.
The owner is very nice and personable.
I’ve tried the food and it is very good.
I have also thrown my album release party and got to perform at this location.
The downstairs hookah lounge looks very fancy and the upstairs restaurant is a nice little quite place for lunch and dinner.
No complaints here !!

This used to be an excellent bar to get drinks, food and hookah. But with new ownership, the service has went down on all three.
Second Review:
Went again to see if anything had changed. Visited the hookah bar and still not welcoming, not good service. I practically had to get good coals for myself. Probably won't be back unless friends drag me here.

UPDATED- SEE END OF REVIEW.
Good food . I saw they have a patio and it was so nice a day I decided to go in with my nephew visiting from Arizona. We were greeted by Haile, a wonderful man that was so nice when we asked a million questions about the menu, as we have never tried East African cuisine. We decided to try the vegetarian plate, it had 10 different things, although I forget all the names ,I really couldn't spell any if I did honestly.. we also had the kitfo and tibs of lamb and beef. I actually never tried lamb steak before, so delicious! Everything was so flavorful and different in spice. There was a woman helping us African born but just came to the U.S. from France with her husband, so they call her Bella. Beautiful wonderful people, service, food and we really felt at home and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back with more family and friends in the very near future. Thank you for a Wonderful, new for experience!
Update- staff has changed and it is NOT welcoming to outsiders anymore. I have been 3 times and each time was made to feel unwelcome, last time was called a "white witch". Unfortunate, i really like the food and culture.
