Review Hacienda Camino Real - Aurora

My fiance and I have been coming to eat at this restaurant for several months now. Usually it's a very empty restaurant. When I first came I thought the food would not be good since it was so empty. I usually order the carne asada and the horchata. Well the plates are pretty big and the food is really tasty. What stops me from giving 5 stars is that it is very inconsistent. One day they serve the horchata in a tall glass the next in a small glass. One day the carne asada comes with guacamole and the other it doesnt. I asked about the guacamole and they said that it is because sometimes they don't have in stock. I think that's such a let down since we are in a mexican restaurant that guacamole should be a must. My fiance loves the cantaritos drink. Again sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it isn't. So yesterday when I went we ordered two carne asada plates and a cantarito and a mango margarita. The mango margarita came and it was pretty gross. It was basically mango puree with tequila. Not even blended in ice. The drink was warm. I had to give back to the server and told her how to do it. The drink came back perfect. The carne asada plates were good but missing the guacamole. Kind of a disappointment. We keep coming back because the food is good. Hopefully next time they have guacamole when we go.

Really good breakfast and generous portions. They tend to cook on the spicier side, so ask for it to be mild if you don't want that much heat. Their chocolate caliente was legit.

We ordered 2 orders of steak and shrimp fajitas, a tamale combo and a kids meal cheeseburger. The fajita combos were really skimpy for being $17. The cheeseburger pattie was really tough, didn't seem like it was actual meat. My daughter didn't eat it. Salsa was good.. We ended up paying $68 for this and drinks. Wasn't worth it. Waitress was really nice though. Always attentive.

Had the El patron special. Chips we're fresh, salsa looked store bought. Large portions, great flavor. A nice restaurant with eclectic decorations. I was impressed, but have to go back again. I've passed this place for two years and finally stopped by. I'm glad that I did. Go and check it out.

The inside of the place was decorated really nicely. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. The food was fairly good, the queso wasn't really queso, it was ground beef woth cheese on top, but still pretty good on top of a chip. The portions were HUGE, highly recommend.

Service was better than most of the reviews although they were hardly busy. Salsa was fantastic but chips a bit old. Green chili had no kick to it and I was told that it was the spiciest of their three sauces. The soft rellenos are made with poblano chili and they were bitter. The crispy ones made with Anaheim s and we're much better.
