Allie Katz Cafe

The food was decent. The service was horrible! We sat at the bar and none of the 5/6 people behind it came down to check on us. Everyone we spoke with said, "I'm not a bartender", or "I just deliver the food." The young lady who took or food order took our cards to open a tab and literally never came back to acknowledge us. We had to call for the manager multiple times to get our cards back. She made several smart remarks about only helping people who had tipped her but we were never given a chance to tip considering she didn't come back EVER! Doubt I will return but definitely not on her shift.

Allie Katz is definitely a dive bar, but that's exactly what I love about it. Great drinks, great people, great atmosphere. The staff are kind, good hearted people with really upbeat attitudes that fit the scene. The drinks are reasonably priced, & you'll typically find a nice mix between sweet & traditional shots/drinks on the specials board; so there's something for everyone. The wells are what you'd expect, and they have a some nice top shelf options, though those are limited (it's a dive, so don't go in with snooty expectations). This is one of the best down home places in Augusta for good people, good vibes, good tunes, & darts.
