The Brown House

They have the best chocolate malts. I'm glad they extended the hours. Also try the fried pork tenderloin sandwich. It's delicious. I bought the fried mushrooms, not sure they are worth the new price. I think they cut down on the amount that you get. They are delicious but I can buy an entire box of fried mushrooms in the freezer section of Kroger for $2 more. I also bought pup cups for my dogs. Both dogs love them and enjoy the dog treat in top of the ice cream. Great service. Sometimes a bit of a wait, but worth it just for the malt. And your food is cooked up fresh. The Vanilla cokes are a favorite here in Auburn.

My family and I were on a trip north from Nashville, Tennessee and were staying in Auburn, near the Duesenberg museum. Seeing The Brown House was just down the street, we decided to give it a try for dinner. First thing I want to mention is how kind the staff were. They were having a rough day due to some internal issues, and were understaffed, but remained very attentive and respectful. I know how hard it can be to work under pressure, especially in a retail situation, and they were handling everything very well and were fun to talk to. Beyond that, the food was very tasty! My family and I especially loved the ice cream. I got the Moose Tracks milkshake/sundae and it was amazing. The soft serve reminded me of those old soft serve stands on the boardwalk on the east coast. (Very nostalgic and yummy!) I definitely suggest dropping by if anyone happens to be traveling or staying in this area of Indiana. Thank you, The Brown House!

The Brown House is a great family-owned restaurant. They have a large variety of items. The vanilla custard is my favorite! Oh and can’t forget about the coney dogs & fried pickles. I love the service & being greeted by the staff each time I go. I highly recommend giving this place a try next time you are in Auburn, IN.
