Ihop

Food is always consistent, which is why you come to iHop. My concern is over the slow service. To no fault of the staff who are clearly working hard, the reason for the low review is because of the lack of staff which contributes to the slow service. Hopefully they can prioritize staff to make it more manageable.

This place was not busy when we arrived. We waited 15-20 minutes before our order was taken. Once our food arrived, nothing was hot. If we hadn't been on somewhat of a time restriction (Dr. Appt) I would have sent all 3 breakfasts back to the kitchen. No reason for food to come out of the kitchen barely warm.

The restaurant was empty for 5 pm dinner time. We ordered breakfast for dinner. The waitress, Rebekah was nice, friendly and professional. It did take awhile to get our food after ordering, for an empty restaurant. My wife ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. I ordered the Spicy Poblano omelet. My granddaughter had the short stack of pancakes. The portion sizes were very nice and large. The chicken fried steak was just warm. The omelet was warm to cool at best. The pancakes were hot and fantastic. My Spicy Poblano omelet was a real good "Meat Lovers" omelet. No Spicy, no peppers just lots of meat. I should not complain, except I was expecting Spicy Poblano. We did not complain, eat our food, paid, tipped our waitress and left.

The staff here are working so hard, but there are so many tables for just 2 servers working. It took us awhile for our server to come by and offer our friends who joined us, by no fault of her own because shes just been so busy. I got the Steak Omelette and it was fantastic. I asked for no tomato and it came with tomato but that happens. The server was apologetic and offered to have the kitchen “take it off for me” and I decided it would probably be faster if I just picked them out versus the kitchen. Everyone in our group of 4 loved their food. The staff are working so hard running around trying to be able to seat, serve and clean with a small staff. It was nice to see the manager come out to help seat and clean. Until I realized he only helped for 5 minutes on the floor then we hadn’t seen him again. TLDR; staff are friendly, food was great, service is slower due to staff shortage.

The food was good, but the service suffered, which happens from time to time. The food arrived at a decent time, but the server checked on us once, didn't refill my soda, and I went up front to pay. I don't know the server's perspective, but people have bad days. There are many reasons that I won't speculate over. I just hope the server learns and doesn't repeat it.
