Review Koong Thong Thai Restaurant - Auburn

I had the red curry (substituted tofu for chicken) and my husband had the chicken phad Thai. They were both yummy. We will definitely be returning. The atmosphere could be improved but the food was so good. We came back and tried the Cashew Nut and Masumum Curry. They were both delicious!

The best restaurant in Auburn hands down. They've been around since I was a kid. The building use to be a Taco Time branch but went out of business. Gladly, they got hold of this place and made it what it is. Amazing food, good price, and a full stomach. I appreciate Koong Thong for being here all these years. Good people run this place and the efforts they put into their business reflects that. The pad Thai and yellow curry are my two favorites.

Way too spicy at a 3. Couldn’t even enjoy the food. Order panang curry and only chicken was in it- usually you get peppers or shoots or other veggies. That was disappointing. Pad Thai was greasy and way too spice for a 3. Asked for extra peanuts and it was like they put the whole jar of peanuts on it and no lime. Lime makes the flavors come out. Disappointed with the lack of detail on those things and the spice profile being so strong and I usually do well with 3 out of 5. I won’t be back for my Thai fix.

Been going here for years for takeout. Have never eaten inside, one day I will. Just got the Pad Tai with tofu instead of meat, and it was very good. The owners are very friendly too.

I absolutely LOVE this place! I've been going for at least the last 15 years, and the owner always remembers me. The food is amazing, and when you request spicy they really deliver!

Absolutely delicious, perfectly spicy at a 2 star, and very large helpings. I spread it out for three different meal times. Highly recommend.

Woah watch out. You get a mountain of food from this place. Enough for 2 big servings or 4 people if you share appetizers. Great taste and flavor. You get a good amount of meat with the noodles and big pieces, not thin. Ordered a mild and it’s a little dance in your mouth if you have a low spice tolerance. I was fine with it but it was more than I expected. Order 0 no spice if you can’t handle spiciness that well. Hope to try the rest of the menu.

This was our favorite Thai food restaurant in the entire area until last Saturday, my Wife's Birthday. We've been going here or ordering out for year's; since the Health Department rating was 'Excellent'. This place is rated 'ok' as of this review and now we know why. The food tasted like it was cooked yesterday or perhaps even pulled from the dishwasher filter and tossed in sauce. This was my Wife's 51st Birthday and a great excuse to have her two Son's over for the first time in a while because of the Virus. The man that took the order over the phone repeatedly asked her Son, whom was paying for the entire families dinner, why he was ordering so much food. My Wife's Son had to keep repeating that it was his Mother's Birthday. Upon reflection, we should have just ordered a pizza. While this place did not ruin my Wife's Birthday, it certainty left a foul taste in our mouths, both figuratively and litteraly. Goodbye, Koong Thong.

The best Thai food besides my own grandmother, this is the only place I will come. Have been coming here for years, the food and service never disappoint!

Only been there once but was not disappointed. I was craving Thai and this just happened to be down the street. I ordered the chicken pad thai and the chicken larb and both were DELICIOUS. I did order 2 stars on both dishes and my mouth was on fire so I think next time I'll stick with 1 star.

Very good food and nice lunch buffet with several selections. Nice to be able to get in and out quickly! Don't be fooled by the exterior. Clean comfortable and delicious!

I have eaten Green Curry with tofu in just about every Thai restaurant in King County and there are a number of places to get good Thai food. The worst Green Curry with tofu and abysmal service is Koong Thong Thai in south Auburn. Eating their tofu was more like chewing on a greasy tire. Because I really was hungry I ate some of the rice with the broth from the curry. I thought the place was a bit overpriced for the food served to start with and having to pay that much for something I did not eat was irritating, to say the least.

Tried this place because of all the good reviews I've seen. The place did not disappoint! My bf and I ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Woon Sen, and fried rice. The Pad Thai really stood out and blew other Thai restaurants out of the water with this dish. We ordered it with beef, I'm sure it would have been just as good with chicken. The pad woon sen was also good, though it was served with a lot of bamboo shoots. I found that the bamboo shoots were overpowering the entire dish. It would have been better if there was less of them. The fried rice was good, though it didn't stand out nearly as much as the pad Thai. The restaurant had a really authentic feel to it. I think we were served by the manager or owner, who was really nice. Also, they close at 9pm everyday. I will definitely come back here.

Great pad Thai especialy at under $8, call ahead for take out and it's done in 15 minutes or so.

Excellent flavors, generous portions and reasonable prices make Koong Thong a gem. It will be a regular stop for us on the way to the White River amphitheater, and I strongly recommend that you check it out. Just save a couple seats for us!

Good Pad Thai. Quick and good. I like spicy food, so I ordered the Pad Thai with 3 stars. Turns out that was a litte too much heat. I'll order with 2 stars next time.
