What more can I say? My first time there was very impressive. After viewing the menu, I knew right off I had to have the #07 The Brooklyn! I knew this sandwich would allow me to experience the full flavor of the meat without too many components getting in the way; especially being my first time. I chose to keep it on marble rye with Swiss and honey mustard. The meat was sliced thick lengthwise before placed onto the bread then cut in half. This looks deceiving because it looks like cuts of burnt ends after cutting into the sandwich when in fact these are whole slices. The pastrami brisket was so moist and flavorful with hints of smoke. The fact they left the bark on only enhanced the smoky profile and it was left with just enough fat (most had been rendered) to give it that perfect chew and made me salivate I enjoyed the meatiness of the pastrami. This sandwich at a mere $9.00 is a steal and you will not get a similar sandwich of this quality and ampleness anywhere in the surrounding area!
There's a reason this place is always packed!! The food is absolutely stellar!! PLUS, I always order online and when I get there, I mosey past the line and grab my prepaid/ordered food off of the shelf and leave. This place ROCKS!!!
Maxes is our #1 go to sandwich shop in auburn. The staff is great love the location since close to us. Quality is better then togos subway or rat trap in newcastle :) the sides chips and desserts are awsome love the soup. Havent been in recently but def coming in soon now that summer is here :) and they offer catering now ;) must go here if looking for sandwiches. They are hidden gem but dont miss out on the bomb food!
Sandwiches are OMG amazing! Max the owner is the nicest guy. My coworker and I were pleasantly surprised by Max and received the tastiest sandwich we have ever had. Thank you!!
Out of the way ( behind Home Depot) but worth it! Lucky find. Brisket is special.. beautiful sandwiches. Keeping it simple..

Great food, great atmosphere, great people! I recommend the north shore sandwich or the cheddar broccoli soup.
The Brooklyn ( Pastrami ) is beyound lucious.The meat melts in your mouths.
All time favorite deli in Auburn. Staff is great and the sandwiches are tasty. Nothing compares to this establishment in our area.
WOW. I think that I might be speechless. It was that damn good! Mixed green salad with a drizzle of honey raspberry vinegarette and a 1/2 turkey avocado on multi grain. I am in food heaven! Thank you Max!

Great sandwiches that are tasty and always fresh. Their pastrami is off-the-hook good and we often have a hard time deciding which one to get. The bahn-mi is my go to favorite most of the time. Excellent service with friendly staff and they remember your name.

Nice atmosphere, better than I had predicted from outside. The menu had a large selection of sandwiches and I chose the Brisket Bánh Mi. It was delicious enough to discuss again the next day and plan my next visit to Max's. An overwhelming choice of chips that come with your sandwich. I'll be back!!!!
This is the best deli in town. All of the food is delicious! Max and all of his employees are kind and friendly. It’s a delightful, quaint place to enjoy a wonderful lunch!
Better than the best sandwich in town! They have some of the best sandwiches I've had... period. Don't forget to grab a loaf of Sourdough to go. Making the magic at home is VERY rewarding 😁
I have been going to Max's Deli for over a year and gotta tell you they got this sandwich business down! Phenomenal flavors, warm, friendly customer service from Max and his team, and quality food, from the sandwiches to the chili and potato salad. My go-to has always been the Brisket Banh Mi, sometimes with bacon, but they're all pretty amazing. Unfortunately open only during lunch hour from 10-2 and weekdays only, otherwise I'd be stopping by on weekends after trail runs. If you're in the Auburn area during lunch on a weekday, you won't want to miss a stop here!
Well priced sandwiches with a lot of different options to choose from. I would recommend the subs over the regular style bread because they seem a little bigger and are the same price. The service could be a bit better for certain employees, but the owner is very passionate.
This is my favorite sandwich place to go. I’ve been going to them for more than a decade. They have a great selection of sandwiches but The Pilgrim is my absolute favorite. Great service and the owner is very friendly.
Love this place. The food is excellent and you can tell a lot of care is put into it. The brisket banh mi is a must try but their salads are creative and some of the best I’ve ever had.
