Loved, loved loved this place! The performance was stellar, the stage sits just high enough which allows every seat in the venue to be a great seat. The music wasn't too loud, but loud enough to engage the audience's participation. There was a great selection of menu items and oh my goodness the food was superb!!! The drinks did not disappoint. I will definitely be a repeat customer

Love this place. The food and drinks are good. The music is great. It is not crowded. They have the seating arranged nicely by not having you seating on top of each other. I really had a great time. The down fall is parking. Since there are two shows a night, it's best to wait for the first show to end. The parking lot is shared with other restaurants and clubs, so it's hard to find one if an event is going on.
But I love St. James and the staff are very friendly.

Im telling you right now!!! If you’re thinking about going, GO! We had such a great time‼️ the live music, atmosphere and vibe is amazing! Drinks were not watered down and food was delish. We will be back soon!!!

This place is great for a date night. The atmosphere was wonderful and the music was outstanding!
My only issue is that our server forgot about us. To the point that the couple at the table next to us bought us a drink 🤦🏽♀️

I celebrated my birthday with 13 ladies. They were a bit too strict on seating policy, but we had a great time! The Soul Cartel performed the music and persona of Rick James and Teena Marie. They were VERY entertaining.

What an amazing night! Went to my first jazz concert for my birthday. Warm service. Delicious food and drinks. Money well spent. I only wish the show could’ve lasted all night. I had the best time!

I Totally enjoyed the atmosphere. I drove up bout 5 hrs to see Chris Standring live. The waitresses were friendly, drinks were good ( I got a whiskey buzz from the drink) and the shrimp skewers was Off the Hook. I'll be going back. Oh and a photo op after the show was to Top off a Great evening. And yes, I made it back to work the next day.

I was invited to go with my neighbor one Sunday, and this is a must. Yes, grown folks have a very nice place to enjoy some music. their owner is a hard-working person. The sees to it that everyone is taken care of. Stop by St. Ja.es Live and take so.eone with you, you won't be disappointed

The show was awesome! The Red Sample Band was amazing and did a great job of engaging the crowd. The venue has a great sound system, and every seat has a great view of the band/stage.
I had the teriyaki wings and collard greens, which were very good. My husband had the pasta with chicken, which could have used just a little more seasoning but wasn't bad.
Parking here is no charge in a lot with plenty of spaces. They can run out of spaces, so I suggest you there about 20 or 30 mins before doors open foe the second show, and get out you car about 15 until the doors open to get in line. Once doors open, the line moves quickly because most people have purchased their tickets online beforehand.

What an excellent choice for a date night, especially on a brisk Thursday night. The teriyaki party wings were perfect. The Mac n cheese and rice were good as well, I just wished the menu was more diverse. The establishment is such a vibe and very private. I will definitely be back.

The music and atmosphere are A-1. But the food is awful. We ordered the sampler with jerk wings, shrimp & spring rolls. There was no seasoning on the wings & the spring rolls were super greasy. Also the sampler only comes with 2 of each item. We then decided to order some lemon pepper wings, I told them extra crispy & extra lemon pepper seasoning hint hint. Again the wings were not seasoned & instead of putting the extra seasoning on the wings they gave it to me in a cup on the side. The drinks are weak and overpriced. I will return but I'll go to dinner 1st and make sure to have a drink or 2 b4 I arrive.

My wife and I went to St James for the first time and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the atmosphere. The entertainment was on point. The group performing was awesome💯I will say this, not as a complaint, it can be a costly night. I paid $40 for each of us to get in...VIP table for two, which was worth it, but my wife and I decided next time to upgrade because they have a special VIP section for a $100 a couple 😉We really have a great time and the house was packed but you could get around with no problem (spacious) oh yea and they have a dance floor and a DJ playing old school music! The crowd was very mature (in their 40's)It's a must go👍🏾👍🏾

St. James Live for me was a south side 'best kept secret'. Loved it! The low-lit atmosphere and beautiful decor was my first thrill. The music and first-class live smooth jazz sold me and will keep me coming back. Food quality and service did not add up to a 5 but because i love jazz so much and it's near my home...I'll be back to see Elan Troutman and Jeanette Harris!

Just awful!! Beautiful venue but awful service and management!!!! Forgot to place our order, flat drinks, drinks never refreshed, 20 minute wait for change and mandatory 18% gratuity for that poor service. Will never return!!!!

Great time with family and friends. Sampler platter was good, especially tempura shrimp. All peach drinks were worth the price. Staff was very professional. I had fun and that is what matters. Look at upcoming show list.

Russell Gunn, The Boys in The Band and Dionne Farris ALLLLL were ah may zing. But the food and drinks while tasty enough were a tad pricey. This is a place I'd love to become a regular at (in spite of the fact that it's a long haul for me to get to ~ more than 60 miles one way) but I don't know if I can afford to go very often. which is sad, I had a ball. After we ordered, we joined some people at another table that my brother recognized and even though they had already ordered and eaten their food, they still charged us the gratuity for a group. We would have left an appropriate tip regardless, but that was just cheeky.

I thought the venue was very nice and the entertainment was outstanding "Milkshake Quintet". I thought the food prices were a bit high and I wanted a glass of water with my drink and was told they only had bottled water which was overpriced so I passed on that. I will definitely go again but will eat before I get there!

I really enjoyed my 1st visit featuring Dexter Tolson. Quite a gen in this neighborhood. Looking forward to visiting again. The pineapple upside down martini is worth the visit 😄❤️

Spent my birthday at St. James Live. It was great. The owner was charming and friendly, the hostesses and servers were as well. I had the lamb chops which were great, but the Mac and Cheese wasn't fresh. Carlin Taylor and the Soul Cartel were OUTSTANDING, although the sound wasn't quite right.
The facilities are beautiful. Every single person in my party loved it. I'll be back soon!!

I visited this venue for the first time a couple of months ago for Maleke O'Ney's show, and as usual she was amazing. The sound was great, and the venue was nice but I was really disappointed in the quantity, quality and price of food/drinks. I ordered the sliders and only received 2 for $10, soft drinks were in the can for $3, that's utterly ridiculous, you can buy a 6 pack of can drinks for less than $3 and of course no refills, and they only served bottled water and it was $3.00. I'm sure you have water other than bottled water in your kitchen, at least I hope you do. If I attend again it will only be to patronize the entertainment. I gave the score of good only because of the excellent show.

I just moved here in October from Texas. My cousin told me about this Jazz club. My parents and my siblings came in town for thanksgiving. My wife and I took them to the show Saturday night. We all loved the show. It's easy for me to write a review and pick apart the club, but I'm not going to do that. Nothing in life is perfect, its what you actually make of it. The most important thing for me is overall having a good time, andI did just that. I was greeted with professionalism and respect starting at the front door from the security staff. The hostess was very polite, always smiling. My drinks were strong, my food was hot and my waitress was very attentive. The bathroom was clean and it smelled good. The band was wonderful. I really enjoyed myself. I would definately recommend going to a show and you be the judge. Don't let other people's negative experience stop you from trying it out for yourself.
