Great food from some great people at Mi Barrio! One of my favorite places to get Mexican food from in the city, and thankful I live close by. Staff is super friendly and the food came out quick. Glad to see they're up and running in the pandemic.

The pork and chicken tamales are really good. I loved the masa and they were full of meat. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was casual and comfortable, family friendly. Our server was nice, she brought chips and delicious salsa for the table. There wasn't much flavor to the beans and rice but there was some amazing chile verde on the table and that made it perfect. I did not enjoy my beef chimichanga. My problem was with the beef. It literally tasted like canned beef. I can't explain the disappointment because it was a huge chimichanga chuck full of this weird beef. I wished I had ordered the chicken instead, my friend devoured the whole thing. I do recommend this authentic spot. We had a good time. Parking was limited. We parked around the corner and walked up. All in all a good experience.

Food was fantastic! The owner was super nice! I am definitely going to go back and work my way through the menu. Really want to try some of the tortas.

Consistently great food, it’s our go to spot! Easily the best salsa in Atlanta and I love walking in and feeling the family/neighborhood vibes. My favorite place for a Margarita after a long day or on a fun weekend with some friends!

The food here is incredible, but it's the owner and staff that make me wish I could give it more than five stars. Highly recommend trying the traditional steak tacos, chicken enchiladas, margaritas, taco salad, Chile rellenos.... Honestly get whatever. It's all insanely delicious!

THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD in ATLANTA! The drinks are sooo good! Food is very tasty. Staff is awesome! This is a real family run Mexican place. Atmosphere gives simple but cozy! This is not a stuck up place..come in, sit and enjoy! I hate it when they close for the holidays cause we cant find anywhere like this place. Cant wait for January when they re-open!

My all time favorite Mexican food restaurant in Atlanta! I’m originally from the southwest and have been searching high and low for an authentic Mexican restaurant when I moved to Atlanta. I found that and more at Mi Barrio. Not only is the food incredible (a better torta de lengua than what I get back at home), but the customer service is next level. This family owned restaurant makes you feel like you’re a part of it! They welcome you with open arms and the cozy low lit ambiance of the restaurant makes you feel right at home. The margaritas are an absolute must! They’re strong, but delicious! If I could rate them 10 out of 5 stars I would.

Incredibly authentic! I spent decades living in Arizona and this felt like we had walked across the border in Nogales for dinner. Prices were high but I've come to expect that here in Atlanta, and I'll happily pay it for this style of Mexican food that I haven't been able to find outside of AZ. When we first arrived there was a sign outside that said cash only. I didn't want to miss the chance to try them so we decided to go in to see if they had an ATM. They didn't but they were able to take cards (she said their internet had been down with lunch service so they weren't able to do cards then and just hadn't taken the sign down). Maybe plan to have cash just in case you get there and they're having issues again. Otherwise double check their hours (kind of all over the place) and stop in for some amazing, authentic Mexican food!

it is named”my neighborhood” for a reason. It is a local area gem. Family owned. If you are you looking for a true Mexican dining experience. this is it. Come in and enjoy the settings and chill out with a beer and chips. They have a very large selection of Mexican beers. Entrees are served quickly;if they do not have a long line. Their “flour” tortillas are hand made and should not be missed.

Excellent local Mexican food. Some of the best food in Grant Park. Multi-generational family-run place with truly genuine Mexican food, and one of the only “Spanish-first” menus in the city.

This is a wonderful little family owned restaurant that serves up delicious flavors on the daily. We eat here once a week at least.

Mi Barrio is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. Run by a lovely and friendly family, and they always remember my favorite dishes. Highly recommend anything at this place, but I particularly love their chile relleno and tamales!

YUM. This place is GREAT! It's a little hole in the wall on the inside, but the food is delicious and very inexpensive! I love the nachos! Drinks are also super cheap. The cheese dip is really yummy too. All in all a really great place, highly recommend it to all!
The Good And The Bad
The Good and The Bad. The Good - food quality, homeade tortillas, family-run/owned, authentic Mexican cuisine

The Bad - Decor (though it resembles a real Mexican restaurant), Parking can be difficult but there is usually street parking available on Park Ave. around the corner
In My Humble Opinion
5 stars for ambiance. I love the ambiance here! It's small and brimming with sombreros and color.

The food, however, was just ok. To me there are variety of styles when it comes to Mexican food. You've got your hipster mexican, where no actual Mexicans are involved in the making of the food. You've got super authentic Mexican. And then there is the Mexican food that Mexicans make for Americans. And that is what this is.

I got the chicken enchiladas. I found them a little bland. And the rice and refried beans were also blah. The refried beans were made from pinto beans, instead of my preferred black beans.

WIth all this said, I still did enjoy my time there. The atmosphere makes up for a lot. And next time I go I will definitely try some other menu items.

Awesome tongue tacos! Real Mex for a welcome change. Two thins up.

Bueno!. Any restaurant recommended by underground foodie Jim Stacy (of the GPTV show, "Get Delicious") is a place I want to check out.

We were coming from the recycling center on Irwin Street. It was lunchtime. I was hungry. When we passed Mi Barrio, I yelled "stop!" And that's how we ended up there.

This is one friendly, busy little joint. You don't get a check. You tell the cashier what you had. The atmosphere, as others pointed out, is reminiscent of a mom and pop place in Mexico.

My husband had the enchilada plate. He rated it an 8 out of 10. (I asked how he rated enchiladas at our usual Mexican restaurant. He said 7, so this is indeed a step up.) I had a chicken sandwich, perfect for lunch: shredded chicken with guacamole, lettuce and tomato on a delicious Mexican roll.

While we were there, they were roasting peppers for chili rellenos, which I suspect are delish -- and a perfect reason for us to return.

The Real Deal Holyfield!. Friendly family-run and authentic Mexican food that sets the standard in our side of town. From the chips and salsa (fresh and fireburnya!) to the tender pulled-chicken chimichanga to the delicious tamales literally made by the grandmother in Mi Barrio's tiny kitchen, then served by her granddaughters and grandsons.

The experience is like being invited over to someone's house and being served an awesome meal. Fair priced and always feels like you're part of the family.

Mi Barrio!

This restaurant had a real welcome to the neighborhood vibe and was a good choice for lunch. The service was good and fast, and the hostess was charming, my only real concern is the review that talked about the recycled tortilla chips. I'd give this joint a 7 of 10

A no go for me. Just read the reviews on this place. I have seen them put the leftover chips from the tables back in with the new ones (salsa too)!!!! I was hoping it wasn't so but they are very slick with it. Also cannot see why the inspection score they have is in the 80s. It is hidden. GROSS

Way too many owners kids in here. The kids are not visitors...it is their kids. Can you say babysitter?

Just Awesome. The food is better than average but the atmosphere is truely cool. It really does have homie neigjborhood restaurant feel that I wish I had experienced sooner. It seemed everyone that worked there is family and they're all very friendly. try this place.

Interesting place. This was my first time to Mi Barrio, my wife's second. She recommended it to me. As you pull up, it kind of looks like a converted laundromat or something, but painted red and situated right by a check-cashing place. Maybe it could have been a bait shop in a previous life. Walk in, and it's quite informal, not by any means "fancy" or anything. Very friendly, and most clientele seems to know the people working there. Wifey had the Chile Relleno, I had the Fried Tilapia (they have the Mexican name on the menu, but I forget it). The relleno was vegetarian, and had a massive lump of cheese in it. Overall, for 9ish dollars, very good food. When I ordered the 12ish dollar fish, I figured I'd get some breaded, fried fish, and that was ok by me. But what I got was a whole tilapia fried. WOW it was tasty. Very pleasantly surprised.

Don't go here for some fancy atmosphere (Dog the Bounty Hunter was on the TV), but go for some good food and really friendly service. Oh, and while we were eating our standard chips-n-salsa while awaiting our food, they brought us some sort of pickled cactus stuff for the chips. Really nice.

I returned to Mi Barrio last night for what was probably my fifth meal there. While I will say that it was the best meal I’ve ever had there, that was not a consequence of the cuisine. Ultimately, Mi Barrio is a decent restaurant, but drastically overrate
