February 18, 2016 · by willoughbyandy · in Atlanta (Outside the Perimeter), Georgia, Latin American, Roswell / Sandy Springs · Leave a comment. Looking for a quick bite on Thursday as I headed around the top-end perimeter, I jumped off at Roswell Road, certain I’d find something. And I did – local chain El Taco Veloz. They have five locations in the metro area and one in Gainesville. Just south of 285, this location is near the Target, underneath the running taco sign above. I arrived about 6:30and it was fairly empty (as you can see below), so I studied the menu above the counter and contemplated my choice.
Super authentic! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, come here! The Carne Asada burrito especial is where it's at! Also, the verde salsa is amazing
Most authentic tacos we've found in Atlanta area. The chorizo tacos were fabulous. The tacos de carne asada were decent. The chile rellenos reminded of my mother's in Mexico, truly. Don't worry about the location or the old interior, just order and eat.
NOT YOUR RUN OF THE MILL MEXICAN. I wasn't expecting too much from the looks of the place and the location, but I ordered the Nacho's and they were like none I had ever had before..like you were visiting a Mexican home and being served dinner! Fabulous tasting food! Just delicious and fresh....except for one thing....the tortillas were just a little stale, but otherwise, the steak and everything else on the nachos were just out of this world delicious! Can't wait to go back....
Kick ass tacos!!! Can"t go wrong or broke!
I stopped here by chance after seeing it was still open at 1:31A in Jan of '08, & it was delicious!
I continued my spring cheap taco roundup and made my way to El Taco Veloz just south of I-285 on Roswell Rd.; they have multiple locations, but this was the most convenient. WARNING – it looks really sketchy from the outside and their parking lot appears to have been bombed as there are 1-2 feet deep potholes everywhere and there is not an even piece of ground to be found, so be careful upon entrance and exit. Keep in mind, I’m here for the food, and can easily dismiss the faint smell of urine coming from the rear of the lot… Tacos are thing here, but so are the off menu tamales that they crank out for around a $1.00. They have chicken and pork, but go for the pork as the chicken can sometimes be a little dry. The masa was extra moist and the filling steaming hot; pair it with some of their mild tomatillo salsa or get risky and go for some the light green, guacamole like salsa with a hint of habanero! Awesome, albeit very small tamales On the taco front, they have everything from carne
Stopped over for an authentic experience !
Nachos were great but the sauces were super hot. Tried a milder one but that was not as tasty. Couldn’t really dip the nachos in the salsa.
Tacos were wrapped in foil and tasted better with the extra sauces and salsa.
TV in Spanish brought an extra flair to the restaurant for an authentic experience.
Restaurant couldn’t cleaner and more organised. Needs a little TLC..
Peking is a bit small, but if you’re in a rush they have a drive through. The place is small but welcoming. The service is good. The food was amazing, we got the tacos and they were delicious. Best tacos around sandy springs area. Would 10/10 recommend.
Drive-through service was pretty good. The super chicken burrito was satisfying, came with green and red sauce, and was under 9 dollars after tax. That’s a deal!
You have to love this hidden gem on Roswell Road. While on the main road right near the Prado Shopping center, you might drive right past the yellow building and never see it. Well all I can tell you is look for it and make sure you stop if you want true authentic mexican food that is top notch, affordable, and the staff are awesome. The Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, pictured, is amazing. Everything is fresh made, so if you don't call ahead just denote this isn't fast food, this is food made right when you order it. I've been here at least 10 times in the past 5 months and the consistency in the quality and the top notch service from the staff is there every time. They do have a drive through that is available as well if you like, just note again you have to wait a tad compared to fast food cause they are cooking it to order every time. Also, while the building might not look the best, check out the health score, it's 100 and their past 3 years has never been under an A on their rating. Highly Recommended and looking forward to going back again in the future, and please make sure to tip the staff something for the awesome service and food you are about to consume!
Been to this location a couple of times for lunch. A hole in the wall no frills restaurant with really tasty food. I’ve only had the tacos and they have been fantastic both times. Service is fast and friendly.
Update: I ate here again and this time, the nachos were better. Plenty of beans, cheese, jalapeños, onions, and sour cream. And the horchata was pretty tasty too! There's also a convenient drive thru that's popular at the lunch hour.
Good but not great Mexican food. The super nachos could've used more toppings and chips...too much cheese. And the arroz con leche was yellow...first time I've ever seen that. Tasted alright but it was in a plastic cup, and not made on-site.
The service and food were great. Definitely will go again if we are in that area.

Best Mexican food! Get it fast and so dam tasty. Always fresh and so cheap! We get huge burritos for like 6$. We love it, just wish their was a closer location in Dallas or Hiram
Pretty good restaurant for authentic Mexican food I ordered a burrito and was completely satisfied so flavorful and filling
The food is good but the service is not and it takes a long time to get just one taco
