I was blown away. The food was phenomenal. I got the #1 lunch special and it was so much food. The salmon and tuna were both amazing. Tried some fatty tuna and it was heaven. Melted in my mouth. It got very busy on a Saturday. We got there right when it opened and man was I impressed. Wish I could go back right now

Attentive, courteous, and efficient service. It was a busy lunch, but the staff worked together. The experience took 30 min. Excellent price point! I will visit more often! Right on Buford Hwy NE. Lunch special - Sushi Box pictured/do. (Free Ice cream at the end.) Thank you!!!

Kang Nam Japanese is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Atlanta, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating from me, the highest possible. Their food is exceptional, but allow me to share a personal experience before delving into their culinary delights. On a recent Monday evening, I dined at Kang Nam and accidentally left my shoulder bag, which contained a luxury brand purse, behind. The realization struck me on Tuesday afternoon. After searching everywhere at home and in my car to no avail, I called Kang Nam in a last-ditch effort. To my immense relief, they informed me that they had safely kept my bag. This was more than just finding lost items; it was about recovering my ID, student card, library card, shopping cards, and crucial credit cards, including irreplaceable foreign ones. Their honesty and professionalism deserve more than just stars – they deserve immense gratitude. Now, about their food: Kang Nam's portions are incredibly generous. We ordered abundantly, yet couldn't finish everything. First, their dinner combo featured some of the freshest sashimi in the Atlanta area at a comparable price. In cities like New York, such a sashimi dish alone might cost around $45. The sushi combo is substantial enough to satisfy two people, especially if they've had a late lunch. Second, their Chicken Don is a must-try. What sets it apart is its unique sauce, creating a comforting, homely flavor reminiscent of "meat over rice" dishes or the Chinese "Ban Fan (拌饭)." We couldn't finish it in one sitting, and it generously served as lunch for me and my husband the next day. Third, the Spicy Tuna Sandwich was a novel experience. Imagine a sandwich with a crispy, fried exterior made of bread or cracker crumbs. It's not only delicious but also hard to find in other restaurants. Lastly, the Gyeranjjim (Korean Steamed Eggs) was exceptional. Larger in portion than what other restaurants offer, it was silky and flavorsome, making it a must-order for me at Kang Nam. In summary, Kang Nam Japanese doesn't just impress with its food; their service and integrity are equally commendable.

We had a party of 3 for dinner at 7 pm on Saturday, 9/8/23. Service was great. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Sushi was delicious. The presentation on the boat was a definite bonus! The banchan was good—I liked the peanuts in particular. The sushi came with soup and salad, which was really nice! Here’s what we got: - Perfect Roll ($12.99): Good! - Samurai Roll ($11.99): I think this was my favorite! - Alaska Roll ($9.99): Straight mayo on top. Not my favorite. - Spicy Tuna Sandwich Roll ($9.99): So fun and different! - Yami Yami Roll ($12.99): Baked and very saucy. The rolls were so cheap, compared to other sushi restaurants in the area, and the food was good! The prices and the service made this 5 stars. I would definitely go back!

I've been coming here every couple of months over the last 6-8 years for good reason. The owner chef embodies great customer service and his staff naturally reflect the owner's attitude in every way. As a Korean American, this is THE place our family goes to for 회/Korean style raw fish. I have yet to have anything on their menu that wasn't fantastic. If I had to pick favorites though, in addition to their 회 (hwe), I would hands down recommend their 대구탕 (Spicy cod soup) which the best I've ever had including in Korea. There is a depth of flavor that I can't quite do justice describing here in this google review. If I had to pick a con, it would be that the exterior of this place looks unimpressive with a slightly dated interior but don't let those looks fool you. A restaurant really only needs great fantastic tasting food and great customer service and this restaurant has those in spades.

One of the best little restaurants. An unassuming exterior hides this gem. The inside is warm and welcoming with excellent, attentive service. The sushi is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The taste is extraordinarily delicious.

First time here but my father had picked up food here before for take out and recommended we give it a try. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by one of the chefs and it was such a simple, cozy looking restaurant. We arrived during lunch and at first the place looks small and packed, but they had seats hidden in the back as well which shows that there’s more than meets the eye. If you go during lunch, then you have to get the bento box! It comes with extra sides prior to receiving your bento box (like soup, kimchi, noodles, and other items). My father got the galbi box which is the prime beef short rib while I got two sushi rolls. Both were huge portions and well worth the price. I will definitely order one of the bento boxes for my next visit! Our only issue was since we were tucked in a hidden room in the back, we didn’t get as much service but when the server would come to the table they were attentive and the food arrived at a timely manner. A definite must visit if you’re in the Buford Hwy area (Doraville).

we went and it was amazing from beginning to end! we were able to reserve a table last minute- normally we try to go on fridays but it can be a bit busy so book a table on google! The food was amazing and the complimentary salad and soup was a pleasant surprise. everyone was so nice and checked on us throughout our meal. we never waited long for anything and the price was worth it!
