Review Wild Ginger - Atlanta

Imran Lakhani
When was the last time when you discovered a hidden gem in restaurant that you found amazingly good and outstanding service ? I always wandered around to find these kind of gems. This restaurant was one of those finding. I came with family and from looks of it I knew its a mom n pop place which already made me think it would be good. The people there were really nice to us. When we ordered soup our server put it separate cups for us, like she really understood the assignment. Even when we ordered food she helped us choose the right dishes. All of the food was authentic and really good. Best part was their prices are also not crazy high, so shout out on that as well. We ended by ordering thai tea and mango rice which were so good that we have to come again for that only. Flavor - Star - 9.0 / 10 Authenticity of Flavor - Star - 9 / 10 Cleanliness - Star - 9 / 10 Service - Star - 10 / 10 Value for Money - Star - 9 / 10 Suggestion for owner: You guys are doing awesome job. Hats off. Suggestion for customer: Don’t leave without trying Thai Tea, it’s just perfect. We ordered to share but later regretted that we should have ordered separately instead. Above format would be best to justify my review so i will hopefully continue to keep this for all my next reviews.

My first time going; it was completely empty. I give it 4 stars because we felt kinda rushed. They close at 3pm & open back up at 4:30pm. We arrived at about 2:15pm & left just a bit under 3pm. Not even sitting down yet, was told they close at 3pm but throughout our time there we were told that 3 separate occasions. We chatted a bit but when our food came we went straight to business because of they’re closing time. We just felt rushed but food was great!! So I had ordered Edamame which I didn’t take a picture of, it lacked all flavor. I didn’t eat it. Just don’t order that $6. So to our entrée; I had Panang Curry (Spicy) the portion is massive, I ordered it off the lunch menu for $12. Friend of mine got the Soft Shell Crab w/ Spicy Basil Sauce (2 crabs) ordering off the dinner menu for $23. We also received 1 Vegetable Spring Roll, which came with our meals. Also had a few Coronas, so in all my total was $32.40

I had the pleasure of dining at this small Thai restaurant and it was a delightful experience! There is a great selection to choose from. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. My favorite was the duck especially because of how it is presented over the sauce, preserving its crisp. We ordered everything super spicy, got a hold of their condiments and we were in flavor town. Although the location doesn't seem anything special, it is inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine. I will certainly be returning to try more of their menu! Carpe Diem with your taste buds good people.

Incredible food and impeccable service! I found my new FAVORITE fried rice!! The spicy basil fried rice is so delicious and you get a choice of whatever meat you desire in it. It’s both sweet and spicy and has the perfect umami flavor. We chose the beef and were very satisfied, they served a couple of sliced cucumbers on the side that pair so well with the spicy dish and of course you get a delicious spring roll with a sweet savory sauce just delicious!! The staff was warm and friendly, They make you feel very welcome and the restaurant has a homey comfortable vibe! Will definitely be back!!!

I totally understand all of the great reviews. This establishment exceeded my expectations. Our waiter was a breath of fresh air and very helpful. He made great recommendations and he was attentive the entire time. Other employees also checked in to make sure that everything was good during the period when we were scanning the menu. The food? They did not miss at all. Everything was absolutely delicious 🤤... If you're still reading, do it! Try this place out... you won't regret it. No many places I say that about.

I ordered takeout and got the Pad Thai. It was pretty good, a little dry but I still enjoyed it

I had the Thai beef Salad which was delectable. The beef had so much flavor. Incredible tasty for a salad. My friend got the fried Thai rice, he liked it. Not much to say about this place, service was good and food came fast. Recommended!

!Went there on a weekday it had less crowd, they have like 10-15 tables and people over there are nice. Food feels more local and was good enough. Below are the items I ordered and their ratings Chicken Satay - 9/10, Chicken Wing - 8/10, Spicy Basil Fried Rice - 10/10, Pad Kee Mao - 9/10

Best sesame chicken I’ve ever had! It seems to be hand breaded. My husband loved his drunken noodle dish too. We did carry out but it’s a cute atmosphere if you dine in. There a patio too. We will definitely be coming here again!

Amazing food! Fresh ingredients. Excellent service. Generous proportions. Don't door dash, much better fresh for the full experience.

Honestly very surprised by the staff! I called ahead and arrived early. Even added some additional items once I got there I saw the menu. They were very polite and eager to serve me and that's something that I have grown accustomed to not having. The food looked and tasted like our favorite Thai restaurant. The prices were better and the staff were supremely better! Well done.

Absolutely a 5 star! This restaurant is fantastic! Came here after dropping off an Uber delivery from this place and it came highly recommended from the customer! I was NOT disappointed. I got the Thai Fried Rice Hot and it was definitely nice and spicy just the way I like… don’t get hot if you can’t handle the heat this place definitely adds an extra kick to their spicy dishes which is just how I like it unlike some that claim to be spicy and it’s just as regular. You’ve got to try it… I couldn’t stop eating to snap a pic but here’s what’s left of my dish…

The curry is really good in this place, however it looks that they have new people because all our order went wrong, one of our friends order the curry with shrimp and after a long wait they served the chicken curry, I order the mild version on one of the rices and they gave me the medium and it was really spicy. We were starving and they offered to change them but it would take much more time. We think that the flavors are great, but definitely should put more attention on the service.

Had the Spicy Salmon Basil special. So delicious! Would definitely get it again. Great customer service. The dining area is a little dated, but still well worth the visit. Highly recommend Wild Ginger.

We had a party of 2 at 7:15 pm on a Thursday. There was no wait and we were seated right away. They give rice cakes for free, which was nice. We got the small Tom Yum Soup ($7). It was tasty, but at $7 for a small, it was overpriced. For entrees, we got Pad Kee Mao with chicken ($11 + $1) and Massaman Curry ($12 + $1). Both were delicious and the portions were big enough that we had leftovers. Beware that the Pad Kee Mao is spicy. It’s a little annoying that the chicken and tofu are an extra $1. I think it would make more sense to have those proteins as the base, and then beef, pork, or shrimp would be extra. Still, the prices aren’t bad. The service was very good. Our waitresses were so attentive. They were very helpful when it came to deciding what to order and which protein to get. We appreciated their honesty. I was not expecting much in terms of ambiance, but it’s actually nice inside! We’ll be back!

Amazing food and amazing service. Family owned and operated. I go there 2-3 times a week. I tried most dishes. Everything is excellent!!!

Good thai food at a reasonable price. The portion of each plate was enough for two people. The location is in a remote area away from the city so getting there is about 15 to 20 min drive.

Came for lunch. Food was good, service was slow. Size of portions was average. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was pleasant and calm.

You can find Wild Ginger Thai Cuisine at 2201 Savoy Dr, Atlanta, GA 30341, this is the access road that parallel's I285 across the North-Eastern arch, inside the perimeter between N. Peachtree Rd and Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd (the access road North of the perimeter is Cotillion). Wild Ginger is in a small cluster of buildings near N. Peachtree Rd just before it turns into the access ramp to I285 East. Parking is in the front or anywhere you can find a space.

YUMMY!!!!. My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant last Saturday night and although the building is old, we were very impressed. The food was delicious and the wait staff very much "on their toes." We received excellent service and again the food was DELICIOUS!!! They provide a free appetizer of some type of crispy chips like I have never had before. They were very yummy and before our meals arrived, we were asked if we would like another basket (at no extra charge of course). Very well done, Wild Ginger Thai. We will be back soon. Thank you!

Excellent food, attentive service, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. I had the salmon green curry, Bangkok shrimp basil roll; my bf had the tom kha kai soup and Lad Na noodles, shared every thing, enough food that we brought home for lunches (if not a late night yummy!). highly recommend

Really good Curry.... I usually get the Green Curry when I go to Wild Ginger. The curry is delicious. I also like the fact they put the Curry in a bowl seperate from the rice, so you can mix it on your plate. I also really like the shrimp crackers they serve for free before you order. The Thai iced tea is also good. Overall, this is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Atlanta area.

The part that made this my new favorite Thai place in Atlanta: the curry. I'm certainly not Thai, but I know what's in Panang curry, and it sure as hell isn't green beans and carrots. Wild Ginger's curry ticked all the boxes. Immensely flavorful, savory as can be, and full of the right ingredients: bell peppers, chili peppers, kafir lime leaves and

Wild Ginger was an excellent choice for dinner and one I'll keep in mind the next time I make a late arrival into Atlanta.

Wild Ginger is a modest Thai and sushi restaurant found on Savoy Drive, a road that parallels 285. I don't go here often but when 285 traffic is dreadful I will exit the Interstate and travel along Savoy. In one of these moments I stopped and tried Wild G
