Decent Mexican food but not great. Guacamole tastes like instant mix. Meat is a bit too chewy. I remember this place used to be much better several years ago. I guess thats life.
Standard Tex Mex fare, the service was great, food was good and extremely well priced (we got out for under $40 with two dinners, cheese dip and a beer). The patio is lovely!
This has been our local Mexican restaurant "go to" since 1988. Always fast service, consistently good food, with basically the same menu through the years. On occasion we have margaritas, and they ain't bad!
A Caldo de Pollo for my Little Princess and a Special Dinner #25 for me.
Regarding the atmosphere, we ain't talking about the Chateau Fleur-de-lis from back in the day. It's a competitively priced Buford Highway restaurant. And, it's very good!
Food is wonderful. Service is just as good. Not too expensive. Have been multiple times before and will go back. Highly recommend.
Expansive food and drink menu with good prices and an atmosphere to take you away from the hustle and bustle of ATL. The open air patio dining area is really nice to feel the breeze while sipping on your margarita (s).
This place is soooo packed everytime we stop by! Don't let the pictures discourage you, the pictures don't do justice! What you see is what you get BUT the dishes are really well seasoned and so much better than the presentation!!!
The margaritas here are THE BOMB🤩 Two glasses will leave you feeling soooo good💓
We usually get Carne Anadarko plate, chimichanga plate or the enchiladas plate. This time we tried the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp was very well cooked and super flavorful!
So far, the only thing I would not recommend is the shrimp cevich
I love this place! I just moved to the Brookhaven area about 5 months ago and I love Mexican food. I've tried a couple different Mexican restaurants around town and I gotta say none of them are as good as this one! They are true to the flavor, great prices, and keep a good classic look to the restaurant. I will continue to choose El Potro over the others. (:
El potro is my go to cheap cheesy Mexican restaurant on Buford highway. The chips and salsa here are amongst the best in the city! Pro tip, sub the shredded chicken for grilled chicken - it's way better.
