Mellow Mushroom Atlanta - Emory

Our favorite restaurant. They have been without a liquor license awhile but we are toughing it out with them! Unique and tasty pizzas and sandwiches, good local brews when they're serving. The young people who work there are ALL friendly and capable. Funky 70s style at this location, the original since 74.

This review applies to one specific visit only. Generally, we love this place. Great pizza! That being said.... Stick with the pizza. I opted for something different that night. Big mistake. I had the Cheese Steak Hoagie. It came with luke warm Tater Tots that had a strange taste. They were replaced for me. They still tasted strange, but at least they were hot. On a scale of 1-10, I give the Cheese Steak Hoagie a weak 3, almost a 2. It was nasty. I could taste bacon from some previous meal cooked on the grill and some other unidentifiable flavors that did not belong. After telling the waiter about the problem, he offered to see if the manager would give me 1/2 off. I asked to speak with him myself. While we were discussing the really bad sandwich, I realized that it didn't even have any cheese on it! It was so bad I hadn't even noticed. Everyone was really nice, and the manager did write off my food. We do like the place, and we'll go back, but we'll stick with the pizza.

Great food, nice service. The ingredients are fresh especially the mushrooms. Today I ordered cloud 9 wings and a medium house special pizza. Love the thin crust that you can make it a roll! And won't feel too greasy like most pizza. Tbh this is my first time dining in at a Mellow Mushroom (although had many deliveries before) and it's beyond my expectations! Like the design of the menu as well!
