The food is always hot and fresh! The rice with tomato onion gravy is so delicious! If you do a platter, meaning you’d get a sandwich with sides of black beans and the yellow rice, only get a half sandwich unless you’re super hungry or want to take half home with you. The portions are very generous!
It's a landmark, period. Best Cuban food in our region, homemade Cuban goodness on every plate! Lived in Atlanta 30 years & was a regular, remember the sad day when the original place burned down. Thankfully they reopened just down the street & it's my go to place 1st & foremost when I make a return. Certainly worth the drive!
If you want more authentic Cuban food you'll have to go 90 miles south of Key West. The Cuban sandwich plate is quite a dish and the owner is too (;
Best Cuban in Atlanta! I have been eating here since I was a little girl and they never disappoint. Great patio seating available while the weather is nice!

Easy to order. A great “hole-in-the-wall” place to go. Great Cuban sandwiches, and coffee. Make sure you try the empanadas. Located along Burford Highway (International Highway)
This is the only place we get Cuban food in Atlanta, has been for 15+ years. Now that we live in MD we simply can not find anything like this real Cuban food. Enjoy some for us!
Closest thing I’ve found to Tampa Cuban food in Atlanta. Great food & friendly staff!!!
This restaurant is pretty far from Buford Highway area where I normally hung out, but it was worth the drive. I studied the menu before the visit, so I could easily ordered my food. I was informed this restaurant can get packed super fast, so I visited this restaurant as soon as it opened. Food was ready pretty quickly, but the flavor of the food was amazing. This was the best Cuban sandwich I ever had for sure. Empanada was crispy with jalapeños kick. I will most definitely be back and try different items on the menu.
First time here, and we will definitely be back! Very affordable prices and not much of a line at 11:45am on a Thursday (it did get pretty busy around noon though, so plan accordingly)
Plenty of parking in the back of the building.
Soft drink cooler with Mexican cokes and other cane sugar sodas (love that!)
We ordered the media noche sandwich with extra pickles- a media noche is essentially a Cuban but with a sweet egg bread. VERY YUM.
My husband got a tamale plate, which was a lot of food and very filling for ~$9 it came with fresh bread, rice and a bean soup (not enough flavor on the bean soup in my opinion)
Definitely want to come back to try the plantains, the croquets and the Cuban coffee! Great prices and nice service ✨
First time back in 10 years! We came back to Atlanta and stopped by the place and very very happy to learn the food is still excellent and authentic. The best Cuban sandwich I have ever had.
Great sandwich shop. Authentic and delicious. Sandwiches around $9 and plates a little more. Pretty small dining room but people turnover quite fast. Drinks include some Caribbean selections if you are curious. Great deserts and coffees. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Parking can be a challenge.
I love this place. I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu. I didn’t like the fried chicken. It was super dry and hard…the rice pudding and flan were good. But love the stew chicken and pepper steak. I usually call ahead. But wait time is usually 10-15 minutes. I give them
Lunch on weekday, arrived around 12:45 pm, lunch crowd was finishing up but still had open tables inside and out. Family run with aunties clearing the tables. Informal ambiance, authentic tasting, would go again. We ordered traditional Cuban sandwich as well as a medianoche (a Cuban on sweet bread) both were delicious ($9.75 each)
My first time ordering here. I got the cuban sandwich platter, chicken/jalapeño/cheese empanada, mushroom empanada, chicken croquette, and flan. No other words other than that everything is so good, so affordable, and big portions. Literally wrote this right after finishing my meal.
This food will make you wanna smack your momma! The best Cubin I have ever had and I have had many. None compare to this place right here. It is out of this world good. The rice was delicious and the black beans were perfect! The fat girl in me just can't help herself. I love everything food and this place just made my top 10 which is hard to do these days. The staff was helpful and the lady taking orders was not only patient but very helpful. The restaurant itself was cute and clean so no complaints. I will be going back tomorrow. I would go tonight but unfortunately they are not open so I will continue my fat girl overload tomorrow.
I had not been here since the late 80's but it was just as good now as it was then. My favorite is the half cuban sandwich, yellow rice & black beans.
I stopped here for lunch in my workday and I was not disappointed! I had the Cuban sandwich and it was delicious!
This place was great! We both got the half Cuban with beans and rice. More than enough food and it was authentic! Decent price too. You won't go wrong with a stop here.
I flew in for a conference and I was driving around looking for something to eat. As I was driving down the street I saw the sign that said Havana sandwich shop so I pulled in and give it a try. This was the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had and frankly I'm not sure there's a better Cuban sandwich in Cuba!
I travel to South Florida a couple of times a year and I always like to find different sandwiches shops looking for that perfect Cuban. This joint has blown every other Cuban sandwich experience away. This sandwich is even heads and shoulders above the very famous Versailles.
This sandwich is so impressive that I'm flying out on Saturday and I'm going to order one and take it back to my wife. This sandwich is so good that I would fly back down to Atlanta just so I could get another one. It was simply amazing, and I'm so happy that I stopped and gave it a chance.
Best Cuban food in Atlanta bar none. The arroz con pollo is enough for two people. The coffee is good for the end. The staff are friendly and the ambience is realistically authentic to a typical place in the Caribbean.
Still the best Cuban Sandwich to be found! I used to eat here back in the 90's once a week and have stopped by maybe once or twice a year since. The same friendly lady that used to ring me up 30 years ago, rang me up today. She and the food were as good as it always was if not better. I've heard that real Cuban plates come with white rice And I do not debate as I've never been to Cuba however I have had the white rice and will say Havana Sandwich Shop knocks the competition out of the park.
The food was really good. I got the beliche sandwich and it was amazing, I really liked the chicken cheese and jalapeno empanada. You can get a half sandwich and rice and beans plate. The staff was really nice and the place was clean.
We ordered our food at 6:30 on a Friday night and it was ready in 10 minutes.
My husband got the Cuban ($9) and ate the whole thing. He kept going on and on about how amazing it was. I got the Empanada Plate ($11), with one picadillo empanada (beef) and one chicken/jalapeño/cheese empanada. The plate comes with beans and rice. The empanadas were so good. I wish the beans had a little more flavor, but the rice and beans were good sides to the empanadas. We also got maduros ($4). The fried plantains were amaaaazing. Very good portions for very good prices!
This was our second time getting food from Havana Sandwich Shop. We ate there a few years ago. We definitely won’t wait that long to return again! Highly recommend!
I couldn't BELIEVE this place was still there.. best Cuban sandwich in Atlanta. Come to find out they just celebrated their 48th year of being in business. Quaint, authentic, delicious.
Great authentic feel with delicious Cuban sandwiches! The fired yucca was awesome. My friend recommended this place and she will be back often.
