Such a yummy restaurant!! Loved all the food we ate...especially the bao buns

While the menu is limited, the food is high quality and tasty. The small plates (to share) are a good way to explore what the restaurant has to offer. The fried pig ears come highly recommended! Service is fast and friendly.

This is a small, intimate spot to chill and relax! The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is very pleasant and respectful. There are no drawbacks to this establishment.
I was very impressed and will be back! Okay..l have to go and eat!

Great quality of food and friendly service. The Lu Roy Fan, and Yan Su Ji are highly recommended. Chili oil wontons and pork bun were also delicious.
It’s a small restaurant with limited options, but all the dishes we ordered were tasty. Great fusion of Taiwanese food.

Small menu options but all of the things they sell are accurate to Taiwanese cuisine and very tasty. We've come before, and I've reviewed the place before, but they are very good all around and worth it for the small plates. Small place too, but totally worth visiting. Price is okay, and reasonable for the amount of food.

Taiwanese Food is a niche in the realm of Asian Cuisine. Basil fried chicken bits, beef noodle soup, pork belly bun, minced pork with rice are some of the things that come to mind. I didn't see pork chop on the menu so that was kind of a bummer; no bubble tea either but I'm ok with that! Lol
Their pork belly bun was delicious, definitely a win! So was their Ru Ruo Fan (minced pork with rice), that was all sorts of yummy! If you're homesick for Taipei, give this place a try. 要買要快喔~!
Their 3 cup chicken wings was a let down. It's supposed to have the texture of a stewed or braised chopped chicken where as this was a fried chicken wing with sweet basil sauce. It's more like something you'd find on the menu at Buffalo Wild Wings than an authentic Taiwanese shop.

Lu Ro Fan (魯肉飯) slow cooked minced pork with rice and pork belly bao (掛包), they are both excellent in flavor. Pork belly bao is unique cuz it has a hinge of sweetness.

Delicious and very traditional. Pic shows the Taiwanese cold noodles, the salt and pepper chicken (not spicy version), the beef tendon soup, and a half eaten dirty chicken bao. Prices are average for this part of town. Only 10 tables, so it gets busy fast. The takeout is quite efficient though. Good word!

A trendy, yet authentically Taiwanese restaurant in a fun part of town!
My wife is Taiwanese, and is rather picky about Asian food. Suffice it to say I haven't eaten anywhere that hands out fortune cookies since we started dating.
She was skeptical about Ah-Ma's when it opened, since the Virginia Highlands area isn't known for authentic Asian food, but it meet with the Pauline Seal of Approval. ;P
For my part, the Bao is easily some of the best I've had in the city, being a little fluffier and less moist than you might be accustomed to. Everything is really quite delicious!
