Don't let the appearance fool you. It's a tiny place at the bottom of a parking deck, yes, but it's seriously good quality food. I eat here at least once a week and they're consistetly serving some of the best Indian in the city. The biryani plates are particularly good and I highly recommend the naan.
Very casual (ok a dive) and inexpensive but delicious Indian food in downtown. I had the lamb Tikka masala (medium spicy). Don't be a wuss and get the bullet Naan (it's awesome dunked in the sauce but spicy). Free bottle of water and basmati rice. Enjoy!
Ordered take out via food delivery app. Order was prepared and dispatched really quickly. Whole order was packed nicely in one single bag, including two lassis.
I liked a lot the samosas and chicken wings. Chicken pakora was decent. The chicken tikka masala was cooked little differently than what I know. Still the sauce was really good, even two days later I had the flavor in it. Loved the mango lassi, came in a huge cup, sweet and thick, like it should be.
This was GREAT! Small little place with so much good food! I was a little scared of curry, because it's always so spicy but this was fantastic! First time trying Indian cuisine and I very much enjoyed it! Service was excellent, too! Hope to be back soon!
Opens late until 11pm on a Saturday which was great for us as needed a quick bite after seeing a concert. The service was super quick and attentive and friendly. They provide free bottle water. The Indian soup was flavorful had raw garlic and cilantro. The chickpea flour bites were also yummy. The main course of lentil dish was ok. It started pouring rain when we left and as we waited outside the door the guys even made sure to bring us inside the restaurant area to wait for safety.
Aamar is a very small diner in downtown ATL with a handful of tables but has a food packed with flavor. The service was excellent and very quick. I will have to say that the "mild" spice is a little more than mild. The lamb was super tender. Wish I had a bigger appetite to try more.
While every bit of the food was excellent. What stood out to me was how kind and generous the staff were. The staff consistently came by to check on us, gave insightful recommendations of the menu, and managed to calm a toddler who was on the verge of a pre-bedtime meltdown. We look forward to our next meal here the next time we are in Atlanta.
I didn’t get a chance to eat at this restaurant however, I did have a margarita. And it was a tasty margarita and it definitely did the job that I needed it to do. I definitely recommend this restaurant for that reason. Next time I will definitely grab a bite to eat and make another review. I give this place five stars for sure.
Super friendly and professional staff. The food is great and tasty. If you like spicy Indian food this is the place to go. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to paper plates and plastic utensils but as long as you are okay with that you will enjoy the food and friendly staff.
Visiting from California and wanted Indian. Found this Quaint restaurant w the best Indian I’ve had in years. Extensive menu options. Prices are very reasonable and portions quite generous. Service was great and attentive. Small location but makes the experience feel like you’re in an Indian family’s kitchen and I loved it! Will definitely return on my next visit to Atlanta
It is really good! The people are very hospitable! I’ve been there about 3 times. First time ever trying Indian food in general! And it is AMAZING! My order: chicken coconut, garlic naan, and mango lassi! 10/10!
Such great people working at this place. And really 5 stars is for them! The food is very good but more 4 star quality, I would say they are definitely worth a visit for delicious Indian food, with so many vegetarian options too
Pro tip, when they say spicy here, they mean it, Indian level spicy! As an American maybe order mild or medium, or you will be having some trouble..
The Samosas were delicious too.
