Review Takorea - Atlanta

The fries here are really good. Get the fries. I also thought the tacos were tasty. However, I'd pass on the kimchi fried rice. This is a fun unpretentious place. I'd definitely come back with friends or a date. This place won't break your wallet.

Waiters are very nice and the service is fast. Taco Tuesdays are wonderful because you get $2 tacos and $4 margaritas. I wish they used corn tortillas though.

The vibe is absolutely magical. Good music, good food, good drinks. Would definitely recommend this place to hang out with friends and get some interestingly tasty food. The chimichanga is recommended!

Just roaming around in midtown on bird scooters, we thought why not try this place! And we were surprised to experience one of the best food we had in a while. Quick service by Mack (lovely waitress) and explaining us what we should try!!! Do try shrimp 🍤 taco 🌮 for sure!!!

Tacos with Korean taste. What a great combination. Nice restaurant, great service and really good prices. Remember to take your credit card because they don't take Cash!

I got the Spicy tuna bibimbap and my wife got the the Orginal and both were really great! The waitress mentioned the sesame fries and we are soooooo glad she did because they were AMAZING!

Love this place. Excellent prices and excellent tacos. Happy hour on snacks at the bar with a nice infusion of different cuisines.

The only thing I have tried here so far has been there sesame fries, but if those fries are any indication as to what the rest of their menu is like, I am positive that this place is a home run. Those fries were perfectly seasoned in sesame oil and some sweet and spicy chili sauce and served with a refreshing and tasty chipotle infused ketchup. Note that none of this is actually spicy, just extremely flavorful and a flavor bomb of the umami oil, the sweet and spicy fries, the acidic ketchup, and the crunch of the fries. I thought that covering fried in sauces would make them too mushy and soft, but they surprisingly held up their integrity. This place has amazing other creations like burritos and quesadillas and nachos, all Inspired from Mexican cuisine but tailored for a Korean flavor and experience. Come here if you want some fusion Mexican-Korean food away from the hustle and bustle of the extremely busy downtown city.

The food was great! Service? Not so much..it almost felt like we were a bother to the waiter,he seemed annoyed the whole time. But I'll give this place a 4 because the good food outweighed the not so good service.

If I could give Takorea a "10" I would. Love the blend Korean/Mexican flavors and the eclectic atmosphere. Greeted with a welcoming smile, Mimi was our server and she was informative, helpful and kind. Let me say the food was amazing! We had the fries, fish, chicken and shrimp tacos as well as the Ssam. The flavors were on point! We highly recommend Takorea if you are in Midtown.

I really llike the fusion of Mexican and Korean cuisine that Takorea offers. I had the Bap and some other items. The fries were nice too.

Amazing food. Service is fast and prompt. In my taco place power rankings for the ATL Metro area this ranks very high. It's the sister restaurant to Hankook so if you enjoy that you'll like this as well. Good food choices if you're vegetarian or vegan.

Absolutely loved the experience! The portobello mushroom tacos and sesame fries were my favorite.

First time going there. Was immediately greeted and seated at a table by my waiter De’Von, who was very personable. I ordered the calamari taco and a margarita. The wait was not long at all and my food was really good. I would definitely recommend this place.

Seasoned fries were as good as expected given all the reviews. Enjoyed the KFC chimichanga. Good place to grab food after a Tech game as it's just about 2 blocks further than the masses seemed to travel so there was plenty of seating available.

TaKorea is a little bit of heaven for me! A fusion of Korean and Mexican foods wrapped up in cute space with indoor and outdoor seating options. My wife's and my meal was loaded bulgolgi fries, mandoo (dumplings), tempura brussel sprouts, kimchi fried rice, kimchi, sesame spinach, and mushrooms... It was phenomenal! Hit TaKorea when you need a bit of unique comfort food!

I went here for lunch a while back and it was amazing but this time was horrible. We asked the waitress was the cheese dip hot and she said she could put not to add the spicy ingredients. Well it came with it anyways. Also we ordered chimichangas with ground beef and got chimichangas with shredded beef which tasted weird and even the waitress thought was pork. If your menu says ground beef, I expect it to be grounded not shredded. To make things even worse, the restaurant staff were obviously complaining about customers and making hand gestures inside the area where food is picked up. They should probably invest in a curtain. To top the night off, my stomach started cramping and I got food poisoning. Not sure if it was the pork in my taco but that's what I taste. Bleh

I dont have anything negative to say. We walked in and was approached with great customer service...great choice of music was being played over the PA system...Chris, our waiter, was AWESOME...Bakhari (sp) the manager, was very friendly and inviting. The food and drinks were excellent! This was our 1st time there so we ordered a little bit of everything. The sticky chicky, sesame fries, tacos, nachos, watermelon and guacho margaritas are to die for! We will definitely visit again!

Was not pleased with the taste/quality of the food. The KFC chicken taco was less satisfying than a McDonald's snack wrap (for 1/3 the price). The bulgogi plate will disappoint you terribly if you like actual Korean food. The sesame fries were good, that was about it.

This food is amazing! We did not take any pictures of the food because we seriously just dove right in! Apps: the fried Brussel sprouts and the steamed dumplings were to die for! For entree, my boyfriend had the bimbap with all 9 sides and there was only a bit of rice left at the end - my three tacos (pork belly, BBQ Korean pork, and tempura portobello) were simply amazing! We did save some room (okay, we were just being glutinous!) for the churro bread pudding and we were so glad we did! Seriously, we will definitely be coming back to this place every chance we get to come to Atlanta!!! All staff were friendly and knowledgeable- it was truly a great experience!

Great concept, good food, excellent price. Only complaint was the abundance of big chunks of carrots on the pork belly taco. Maybe a bit of shredded marinated carrot but the big chunks overwhelmed the flavor of the pork. IMO.

Food was good, but service was not. It took a long time to get our food, say 30+ minutes, for a group of 5. Took another 20 minutes to get our check after we were done eating because the waiter disappeared. We saw him maybe 4 times during the entire 1.5 hours we were there. We also had no napkins until the end of our meal, and no drink refills were offered to us. Finally, we were all charged an included gratuity of 20%. We certainly were not planning on tipping 20% given the service. Including gratuity of 20% for a small group (5) is crazy, especially because we weren't difficult customers. Certainly will dispute this transaction with my credit card company. Maybe the waiter was afraid we wouldn't tip well because of the service so he included gratuity. Either way, that's basically a deal-breaker for coming back to this restaurant. We've been to this restaurant before with a group of 5 and gratuity was not included. This waiter did not deserve 20% and he knows it. Update: Service manager called me and said today was a rough day for them because a number of staff called out and they had quite a few large groups during lunch. The gratuity added was certainly a mistake and he actually remembers us from lunch inquiring about our checks. He offered to cover our meal if we choose to visit again. A+ on customer service.

If I could have given it a zero... I would have loved to have reviewed the food but unfortunately after 30+ minutes of waiting we didn't even get to place a order or drink a sip of water. They never greeted us, they only seated us. And then forgot we were there. Worst of all there was almost no one eating there. So no excuse.

Quite honestly some of the best food I've ever had. Unique flavor, great atmosphere, fantastic service. Can't wait to go again!

Was visiting from out of town and stumbled on this place. We waited a while to be seated while the hostess was on the phone. My appetizer was messed up. Ordered a half and half and only got one of the appetizer's but eventually got it corrected. After 30 mins of waiting, the server finally came over to explain they were short kitchen staff. Ended up waiting over an hour to get our food. Asked to speak to a manager but they never came! Food was good but would have probably been better if it was hot. Just a bad experience for a first time visitor.

Unfortunately, it was not a good food experience. The sangria was watered down (we tried both the red and white), everything had the red sauce which seemed like an attempt to cover up the lack of flavor, and the churro bread pudding should be removed from the menu immediately. The restaurant is cute, but the food was not good.

Service with Ben was great. Tacos a little high priced. Had the burrito with chicken and was filling. Can't eat spicy so I had it with white rice. A flavored rice option would be good.

We are regulars at Takorea Midtown, we can't get enough of the food and the drinks!! We always have a great time there, but this time I had to leave a review. Ariana made our drinks and MAN were they good and FAST! One important thing about bartenders is speed and consistency which she has BUT even more impressively she was personable and chatty. The manager Bakari was on point in every way, greeting us as we came in and holding the door for us on the way out. He suggested every meal we had, even remembering the what we had last time so he could offer some different choices. I mean with service like this who needs other restaurants! At the end of the day I don't normally write reviews but I had to this time. I love Takorea! Boom!

Yummy. We love to enjoy these delicious menu items. Enjoyed my daughter's Rehearsal dinner here. Basement was roomy and buffet was plentiful. Highly recommend.

Loved every bite. I ordered almost every taco on the menu. Staff very friendly and it was really comfortable.
