Review Gunshow - Atlanta

B P
Gunshow is a super fun dinner. It’s Tapas style, so expect small plates and a fair amount of diversity. The style of bringing the dishes to each table of a revolving basis is very fun: servers bring the dish to the table and explain what is in the dish and then you/your table decide how many of those dishes you want, and they are dropped at the table right there. Expect very fast service, as at some points the dishes can come at you very rapidly. We had a table of 5, and found that any more people, and we probably would have had troubles getting the proportions of each dish right. The cocktails are very unique and well done, but for the most part, they are batch-made. Throughout the night there is a “mobile” bartender that makes some of those same drinks fresh and in front of you. All in all, Gunshow is such a fun and open atmosphere. The staff is wonderful - friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive. The food is good and has some unique twists throughout the course of the meal. Definitely worth eating here whether on a date, with friends, or with family!

Stunning food and a great experience - fully deserves its reputation. We were a little cautious about the concept at first: worried that by turning down some dishes we'd miss out, but it ends up being very intuitive in the end. The chefs and staff deeply care about the dining experience and as a result you have a great time. We especially loved the goat and the dessert! Went for my birthday and they made me feel like a star.

Spectacular. Lots of fascinating combinations. Unexpected twists and turns. Table side presentation was lovely and only weird on the fish and chips in the explanation. It's definitely a journey - the menu gives you very little to go on, but you must trust. The antelope was incredible. It's hard to describe how they magically elevated chicken on a stick. They made Frenet taste good. I hate mussels, but the curry crepe with squash, spaghetti and mussels was somehow delicious. Best banana pudding I've ever eaten. Try the things you think you won't like.

This was a great experience! I would not take anyone here that is a picky eater though as the menu changes regularly. There may not be something on the menu that evening that they like. You're not getting chicken fingers or a well done burger here. Our whole experience was great from being greeted as we walked in until we left. We really felt welcome. The food is outstanding and you can see the chefs take pride in all the dishes. I enjoyed having the chef that created the dishes come out and explain what we were going to have if we chose the dish. Don't feel bad if you don't want a certain dish though, as there will be another right behind it. However, if you like to try different things, this is the place to experiment. Each entree is good for two people to share. Although there were a couple of plates where we each had our own because they were so good. The service was excellent. We never felt rushed or wanting for anything. The cocktails are delicious and I recommend getting one from the strolling bar cart when you are seated just for the show. FYI for those sensitive to noise that it can get a little loud in the restaurant, but it completely goes with the energy. It took us about 90 minutes to get through our meal so keep the timing in mind. This isn't an experience you want to rush through. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing! Ideally go with at least a party of 4, because they bring you about 7 meticulously crafted, gorgeous, delicious plates. Each serves 2 and you say yes or no, and then they bring the next. It's nice to have a slightly larger party because you will want to try everything! I love that the menu constantly changes to feature what is fresh and in season, and some of their dishes are a bit edgy. We had a "to die for" antelope loin with truffle mole sauce. I cannot recommend them more highly. I would eat here every week if I could.

The team here is so talented and friendly! An awesome, one of a kind culinary experience. Each dish was creative and interesting, and even if something wasn't a personal favorite the preparation and presentation were interesting and made it worthwhile to give every dish a shot. Definitely a splurge but worth it for special occasions. Bring friends so you can share! The only downside to the open kitchen concept is that it was pretty toasty all night- dress accordingly.

If I could give Gunshow more than five stars, I would. Dining here is probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. First off, you don’t need to be super formal for the occasion. It’s high-end, but not with the normal pressures of “fine dining.” That said, I’m not trying to sound over-the-top, but it truly is more than just dinner. The staff all working like a well oiled machine. Plates of fancy food appearing at just the right moments in front of you. It’s a whole performance. There’s nowhere else I can imagine hearing Cardi B and eating the most imaginative dishes I’ve ever eaten. Oh! Also, they took into consideration that I’m sober, and made sure to tailor my experience with that in mind. Such an uncommon thing, but it was wonderful. Truly something special. You’ve gotta check it out if you’re in Atlanta. You won’t be disappointed.

Start to finish - everything was considered. I have dietary restrictions and the crew at Gunshow were determined that I would have plenty to enjoy - and they were right! Some of the best food I've ever eaten - everything prepared with care and just the right balance of flavors. The timing of dishes meant you weren't overwhelmed - just excited for what might come next.

There’s a reason Michelin guide came to review this restaurant. Mark my words this will be a bib gourmand. Cody, the chef de cuisine does an outstanding job with every plate and dish. From presentation to explanation.

A chaotic-good orchestral dining experience. Come here with a group of +4 people and try every dish. Also, order your first drink from the bar cart for a show. Remember, the person cooking the dish is also the person delivering the dish to you, so be sure to thank them and ask em a question or two. The Fluke Fish and Chips was my favorite followed closely by the Oxtail Donut. Yeah, I said an “Oxtail Donut”. After all the courses and rich foods we were all ready to take a nap and the Muscadine Sorbet woke us up immediately. Don’t forget to get rowdy.

Given the hype and the cost, I was a bit dissappointed in some parts of the experience. The service is top notch and I was happy to learn they split tips equally front and back of house (terms which mean little here). We tried 6 of 10 or 11 courses, plus 1 of the 3 desserts. Some were amazing (lamb, fried bison foie, etc.) and some were all presentation and less substance (shrimp). The duck bao was burnt and bland. These latter two I wouldn't get again, but the other 5 were solid. Street parking nearby. Standard dinner experience takes 2 hours and you'll spend 50-75 per person plus drinks, plus tips ($14 cocktails - the mezcal one was amazing).

Come hungry or bring bag of will 🫣 cool dim sum concept with modern American dishes. Chefs will bring out dish, show it to you and you can take it or leave it. Each dish is sharable by two, potentially more. Came in determined just to try and share 4 but… plates look like art and delicious. So ended up trying more. And don’t forget to save place for dessert. If first time, get banana pudding. Cocktails are nice and different, since selection is limited.

Super unique dining experience. Amazing food and cocktails. Not just the flavors, but the presentation, and overall experience. Highly recommend coming with a group of 4+ people so you can eat some of every dish. Would be hard to try everything with 2 people

Talent is within the walls of this restaurant. Each dish was prepared with a great depth of knowledge of flavors and there was respect for each ingredient as it went into creating these dishes. The top 3 dishes of the night were... 1. The Pork Wellington 2. The Chicken Liver Mousse 3. Tie between the Black Cod and the Duck Pressé. ( I preferred the duck and my husband preferred the Black Cod) For dessert, we really enjoyed the Cheddar and Apple hand pie with french fry ice cream. French fries were literally in the ice cream. The drink of the night was The Sea Witch. I didn't want to have any other cocktails because this drink was so unique and delicious. Loved our experience and this really was an excellent New Year's celebration.

Took my boyfriend for his birthday and it was an amazing experience! We enjoyed the variety of dishes and the way guests are part of the kitchen. Our server, hostess, manager, literally everyone who interacted with us were an absolute delight! Highly recommended!

Due to limited open availability and the way they service, was hard to lock down a time. After making a reservation, we were able to visit. Worth the wait and patience on our part. Every dish was unique and flavorful. Meant to share, we had to settle on what we loved together. Even so, there was plenty of attention to detail and friendly service. Space was intimate yet cozy.

We (group of 4) dined at Gunshow after high praise and recommendations from locals. The concept of this restaurant is very cool. It’s basically tapas, presented in a new fashion. There is clearly a demographic the restaurant is targeting; the staff is hip, younger, eclectic, and attentively aloof. It’s a foodie spot for sure. If you’ve read any other reviews you’re familiar with the concept. The restaurant is quite loud and crowded, with a controlled chaos vibe, which adds to the ambiance, if you’re looking for that type of dining experience. If you’re looking for a well paced meal in a quiet atmosphere this is not the place for you. If you want to try different dishes and window-shop your dinner, this is a unique experience; you should give it a shot. I appreciate the opportunity for young chefs to tryout new dishes. The portions are small, but that’s the point. Again, if you think of it as tapas you won’t be disappointed. We tried the Cuban Pate (our favorite), the humus, the beef bulgogi, crab salad, chicken with zucchini, beef cheeks, and the crawfish (a uniquely plated experience). The flavors were all great and well plated. The cocktail list was creative and tasty. Desserts were a little lack luster (but for context I am a pastry chef). Not a fan of the warm banana pudding - it was a very strange texture explosion of sludge and slime. I would recommend Gunshow for its unique and energetic take on dining. Would I go again…probably.
