We found out about this place a few years ago but only recently visited...I wish we hadn't waited so LONG!!! The food was DELICIOUS and the owners were VERY SWEET! We had the hummas and I had a gyro while my husband had the souvlaki...it wad amazing. The place was very quaint and simple but the food more than made up for it. We will definitely be back!!!!!

Fabulous food, service - people. In every way, this place could be described as a "hole in the wall" you could walk past - and be the poorer. My son and his girlfriend had despaired of finding a place to host her family and mine for a post-graduation Ohio U dinner when, with just days to go, they discovered "Souvlaki's Mediterranean Garden" has a room just off the service counters - and upon discussing their needs with the owner, got an immediate, heartwarming "of course!" response!
They arranged a table that could accommodate our party of 20. We had wonderful dolmades(sp? grape leaves wrapped around pickled rice), hummus and baba-ganoush with pita for appetizers, then ordered off the menu (which is wonderful - falafel, halal gyro lamb/beef, chicken, salads - all delicious). Their two little energetic children helped bus the table - such a LOVELY family!
The owners are from Jordan, came to Athens as OU students - fell in love with each other and the town - and stayed.
I cannot say enough for the owners and the food and their hospitality. We will never forget them, the food, or the way they made us all feel that night.

Absolutely love this place, the owners treat me like family each time they see me and always greeted with a handshake . Food is AMAZING , best gyros I’ve had in my life . If you want great food every time , this is the place to go .
Delicious food for a late night restaurant, filled with beautiful women who want nothing more than I do....just high, what are you getting and telling me what she is getting. It's a great late night spot with great food and quick service.
I do wish the union street diner with all its latenight breakfast glory was open but Souflakis was great tonight.
Their food is soo gooood!!! And the owners are the nicest and most hospitable people, can’t recommend them enough, you’re guaranteed to leave happy.
This local business has ALWAYS taken care of me. I love the couple that run it, they've been nothing short of a staple for someone like myself that worked well into the AM hours. I'll miss the familiar faces when I ordered my usual Double meat ribeye gyro. This establishment has proven to me that consistent kindness goes a long way. Since I've left I can honestly say I will miss the staff as well as the food. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food served with a smile.
