First time I ate chicken and waffles. Wholly Molly it was delicious. Very filling. My husband loved his salmon as well. It was really busy and we waited a good while to get served. It was well worth the wait ✋️ 😊

Great vibe at The Place. Came with some colleagues and the environment was chill and easy to have a conversation. Street parking is decent. I ordered the chicken and waffles which were phenomenal. Would definitely visit again!

Wow the place really delivered. Many items on the menu sounded very good. The flavors paired together in my shrimp and grits, played in a perfect harmony. The onion rings were extremely good. My gf gouda Mac and mashed potatoes were as gouda as her salmon. We both recommend tasting this places menu. Run go now!

We had friends recommended The Place and it did not disappoint! Our waiter recommended a couple of drinks and we enjoyed them. I had the bourbon glazed salmon with collards and grit cakes. It was a-maz-ing! My hubby had the shrimp and grits and it was also very yummy! We can't wait to back and try more. We will not be taking our kids, as they would not enjoy the menu.

YUMMY! 😋
We had brunch here on Sunday.
The food was so good. I had the stuffed French toast. It had black berries and blue berries in it. So good!!
Great Brunch!

SPECTACULAR! Professional, attentive, gracious & friendly staff and the kind of food that makes you realize that so many other chefs lag far behind. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which arrived as a visual work of art as well as a delightful culinary experience to be savored and remembered. Perfectly prepared with just the right ingredients...superb, and highly recommended. Alongside I ordered the Onion Rings, which were among the best I've ever had. Fresh hot and flavorful; not dripping with oil and not dry as a bone the way most are served. For dessert I had the White Chocolate Cheesecake, which initially caused me concern because it seemed to be a rather small piece but it was so very rich that I only took small bites anyway and was ultimately happy that it wasn't much bigger, as it was quite filling and ended up being just the right size. Delicious! To wash it all down I had a double Whisky Sour, which wasn't too sour and wasn't too sweet... just right. When you order a double here, it actually "is" a double...they don't try to cheat you on the alcohol either.
I can't think of any faults to the food, the presentation or the service. I've eaten in far more expensive restaurants that weren't nearly as good.
Please be sure to visit The Place even if you have to make a significant detour to do so...it's worth your time.

This is the kind of restaurant that makes you fall in love with Athens all over again! Eriena was our server at the bar, and she was well versed in every area of the restaurant ranging from food to its history. She had a subtle, confident yet humble aura that elevated the dining experience! Sure, the food was lovely and finger-licking good, but it’s Eriena that surpassed all expectations and provided the Athens experience we were looking for! Go dawgs, and thanks, Eriena.

Upstairs has great atmosphere with flat screen TV’s and music. Delicious salmon dinner with grit cakes and collard greens. All cooked to perfection. My husband had the trout special with the best au gratin potatoes he’s ever had and the trout was delicious. If you’re a fan of old fashions this place makes a perfect one. We even got to meet “The Chef” who was very personable. Great service. Visiting from the ShowMe State😊
