What can I say, this place is an absolute hidden gem! The girls behind the counter were incredibly nice, fast in their work and very welcoming. The Rock Burger will knock your socks off and leave you very satisfied, easily the best burger I’ve had in any state. Chef’s kiss.

Had been wanting to come in for dinner and finally got in! Let me tell you we were not disappointed! Love the vibe here and the people we usually only come for the bahm mi totts, but we decided to get a burger this time. Was delicious. I got the blue rock burger, and we split the wedge salad one of the best I have ever had! The bacon is to die for! I love the fact they have vegan pattys and gluten-free buns!
Visited this cool place for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back! The staff were all very attentive and friendly :) the food was delicious and served hot! I enjoyed the Portabello Tacos, vegan and gluten free!! My date enjoyed the Bahn Mi burger! There is a good selection of tap beverages as well as bottles. I was impressed with the options for folks with special dietary needs (ME 🙋🏼♀️)

Exceptionally nice staff with a menu to die for. Our car broke down on our way back down, there was no cell service and yet Dan and his team went out of the way to make sure we were okay and even help us after they had closed.

This place recently renovated and changed names, and finally my husband and I decided to check it out. We never dined at the BBQ joint before but we love the new restaurant.
+ Beautiful drive to the restaurant on the canyon road.
+ Pass by lots of avocado groves, creeks, and ranches
+ There are plenty of signs giving you a heads up to pull in
+ Large parking lots with plenty of spots
+ Very beautiful and cute outdoor patio. They have picnic tables and some small tables for two
+ The interior is super rustic and cute as well -- bright double decker, very simple and quaint decor, beautiful wood features
+ The menu is simple but has a lot of great and unique options
+ Easy, hassle-free fast casual dining experience -- order/pay at the register, find a spot to sit, and they bring out the food to your table.
+ They have a great selection of local beer and wines
+ Very spacious environment, but not much seating available. I can imagine on busy nights, you would have to wait for a table or stand by the bar
+ They have live music on certain nights which is fun
+ Self serve water station
+ BEST FRENCH FRIES IN THE WORLD. I don't know what it is, but I'm obsessed. I can't get over the texture and crispiness.
+ Really solid Station Burger -- juicy, fresh ingredients, and wonderful sauce.
+ ORDER THE CAULIFLOWER. JUST DO IT. I love the Korean fusion flavors of the sauce and the garlic dipping sauce compliments really nice. The batter is wonderful and it has a crispness to it that I didn't expect. Not soggy and limp like some cauliflower I have had.
+ Loved the dessert we shared. It was some sort of Myer Lemon Mouse Ice Cream thing. Delicious!

Great food and atmosphere. Gets busy can cause service to be a little slow. Just enjoy your beer or wine while you wait. Great small town atmosphere. It's a local hangout.
Totally recommend this Restaurant. We’ve been traveling all California for the last 8 weeks and tried lots of Restaurants - my son counted 28 Hamburgers. But this one was the best by far!

This place was an unexpected little hipster oasis! Great beer, food was delicious (omg try the Korean cauliflower...amazing), and plenty of outdoor seating. Dog-friendly space. Staff were really friendly. Highly recommend.
We have gone there for dinner quite a few times and the food is always so delicious! We always enjoy the burgers, and also trying their specials. Last week we saved room for dessert and had the pecan pie semi-freddo. It was amazing!!

This place knows what it is doing with food in a cute atmosphere. The chicken sandwich on brioche was so moist and delicious, one of the best I have had. My mother in law had the brunch burger and said it was the best in the area, they live in Paso. We are from Chicago and this place is so far the best we have had in the entire area! Big thumbs up, they even got the cheese curds right!!

We're locals and we LOVE Halfway Station! We usually go during off-peak days/times, but we've occasionally dealt with the crowds and I can honestly say that their food is always delivered with a smile and delicious! We usually try to grab their daily special, but everything we've had from the menu has been awesome, as well!
One of my favorites is the chicken sandwich (with balsamic reduction on the side, otherwise the whole thing gets soggy and falls apart). We can also highly recommend: the Bruch Burger, Portobello Mushroom Tacos, the Rock Burger, the Bella Burger, and the Spicy Korean Cauliflower Wings. I'll update as we explore new items/find new favorites. :)
Their selection of beers/ciders/sours is pretty good-- I'm a sour fan and would really love more selection in that department, but overall, the new owners have done an OUTSTANDING job with the remodel, the menu, and the overall feel of the place (it used to be very dank, drab, and a bit dive bar'esque). Well done!
Took my family here for mother's day and they all loved the food and the casual atmosphere. Beautiful backyard setting, turned concert space in the evenings as well.
New favorite stop. The family that runs the Halfway Station has done an amazing job building a welcoming environment with a lot to offer. They have great options for local craft beers, and after 5 or 6 visits everything I've tried from the menu has hit a perfect balance of delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced.
I live in Atascadero and work in Morro Bay, and always wanted to like the previous business at this location (cool history, unique space, and the perfect distance between towns to escape both the fog and the heat), but after stopping in multiple times I never had a good experience. I am so glad the new owners put in the effort and care to build something that checks all the boxes the last place missed.
Ha! I feel a little late to this party but I emphatically second the take that the food is wonderful and the people and setting amazing! Really great spot for an early or late dinner post beach time. The Rock burger in particular was made to order (and pulled off) and was dare I say "elegant" in its blending of flavors and ingredients. Best burger I have had since moving back to the area. Can't wait for the next visit.
