Review Bridgewater Bistro - Astoria

The Nomadic Seamstress
Terrific experience! The atmosphere is very nice. Beautiful water view, soft lighting, simple yet elegant decor and beautiful piano create the perfect ambiance. Service was fantastic! Our server was personable and extremely efficient. She knew the menu well and was easily able to assist us in ordering gluten free meals for our 3 Celiac kiddos. The food was superb!! They have so many gluten free options and everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. We are new to the area and was looking for a nice meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday and Bridgewater Bistro didn’t disappoint! The desserts are great as well. They even still give a dessert for birthdays! They also have several gluten free desserts as well, my kids were very excited for that. Overall it was a great experience and we will most definitely be returning!

This was our 5th and final stop in Astoria. We wanted a sit down with good fish and chips, before getting back on the boat, and found our way here. The service was awesome, friendly and informative. On the classy side featuring a warm fire place with couches. The fish and chips were awesome, the show stopper though was our smoked salmon appetizer with maple syrup.

I’ve eaten here twice when visiting Astoria, once in 2020 and then just recently. Both times my boyfriend and I have really enjoyed the dinner and service has always been exceptional. There was a mixup with one of the servers serving us our soup on time and they comped it without us even asking, which I didn’t even feel was necessary as the mix up wasn’t that big of a deal. The steak is okay, but I really enjoyed the crab cheesecake and my entree. Dessert was very good as well. They have a good wine selection, but the bottles are (as expected) marked way up. We paid around $45 for a $25 bottle of wine but that’s typical at restaurants. We will visit again whenever we’re back in town.

Delighted to find them open after clamming this evening, I stopped by for a cup of tea and dessert before driving home to Portland. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. A pianist played at the piano adding to the ambiance. The menu is full of excellent offerings including many seafood dishes, steak, and a variety of delicious appetizers, but tonight it was their Hungarian Mushroom soup that caught my eye. The soup was hearty and delicious, definitely the best I have ever had. It was served with bread and whipped butter. Paired with Darjeeling tea, lemon and honey it was perfect. For dessert I had a lovely mixed berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream that was the perfect finish to the evening. My waiter was very cordial serving me promptly with a warm smile. A couple seated near me were celebrating their anniversary, another party a birthday. Everyone was enjoying the evening with excellent food, drinks and service. Check their hours before you go. They were open until 9 this time, but I've been by before for lunch when they were closed. The dress is typically business casual or better so you might want to bring a change of clothes if you're blowing in off the beach.

Bridgewater Bistro. Nice place. Good food. Great service. Good views over the river. Got to watch ships going up and down the river. the chowder was great. The crab cheese cake was meh - it tasted like quiche. They had tents on the patio so people could eat outside in poor weather.

Ate here for dinner. Good food, generous portions, great service and atmosphere. We started with clams which were very good and shareable between 3 of us. We then had the following entrees: braised short ribs, king salmon, & the pepper crusted albacore - all were solid, but none necessarily was a must try. For dessert we had a caramel cheesecake and a flourless chocolate tort. They were good, but again nothing outstanding. We had 3 drinks and the bill was around $164.00 without tip. I suggest trying it for lunch or brunch as it is pricey.

If I could give more than 5 stars 🌟 I would- everything was spot on; the greeting, our table, the view, the wine! It was very well delivered. Our server Leslie took great care, and had great suggestions. A absolutely great meal experience ‼️

5 STARS. Excellent food and service. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Great location, overlooking Columbia River, near the bridge. Piano music welcomes you into a large open room with beautiful timber and windows that bring in the natural light. They have two bars, a loft upstairs and outdoor seating overlooking the river. Their menu boasts 90% GF, with a good selection of choices. I ordered the 4 piece fish n chips, and my partner ordered one of the specials, which was a fancy burger. The fish n chips were outstanding. Best I've ever eaten, moist flakey fish, crunchy coating, and gluten-free. The burger was also tasty. For desert, we tried the marionberry cobbler and carrot cake. Both are excellent.

My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary Saturday when we got to the coast most of the restaurants were closing by 8pm and the Bridgewater Bistro was open until 9pm so we gave it a shot. The food was absolutely amazing. My ribeye was so tender my bites just melted in my mouth. The environment was very nice and romantic, especially with the live pianist.

This is probably some of the best food in the area. The service was superb and the food was amazing. The location is very unique with a very cool waterfront view of the Columbia River. We had the French Dip, the Yatch Club Sandwich and a green Salad; all were great! The flourless Chocolate torte was perfectly balanced. Highly recommend!

A favorite go to spot for a relaxing meal with a beautiful view and amazing food. If you are gluten free there are so many options available. Favorites on the new menu are the Pan-Fried Willapa Bay Pacific Oysters, Braised Boneless Beef Shortribs, Cedar River Ribeye, Wild Alaskan Cod Fish 'n Chips, Oregon Berry Cobbler, and Cheesecake of the Moment (Pumpkin Spice pictured). Lots of natural lighting looking towards the Columbia River and Astoria-Megler Bridge. Service is always professional and friendly. Highly recommend reservations - can be made via phone or online.

This is an absolutely lovely high end bistro. The food is to die for - the salmon and brie croquettes were probably the best food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. If I win the lottery I will eat here EVERY DAY. Until then the price is going to have to keep it restricted to a special occasion treat. An appetizer, cocktail, cup soup, and sorbet cost me $45 - close to fifty with the tip and I didn't even get an entree! Worth every penny, but I might need to start a savings fund just to be able to come in again.

Very helpful server, beautiful space inside, and excellent food. My drink was great, and the fish and chips were perfect. I’d love to visit again!

Good not great. And busy. We got a reservation the day before. Amazing location. We watched 3 massive cargo boats go by while eating. The old building as been restored tastefully. Food was good but nothing to write home about. None of the paper shakers work haha.

Service was just as good as the food! Our waiter was funny and attentive. Gave us great info to help us decide. Felt genuine when he offered his opinion on a menu item to help us choose when indecisive. Everything was great. Atmosphere felt classy, and food was very reasonably priced, and was served pretty quickly. Thanks for a great evening!

Gorgeous place to dine. I took my mom and we had an incredible time. Service was lovely, the piano plays itself which is a very nice touch of magic, and you can see the bay from your table or booth.

We decided last minute to stop here. No problem getting a table service was fast and covered all aspects of a wonderful dinner. Atmosphere was relaxing with live pianist but whimsical when we discovered a skeleton hanging under a seating area. Food was flavorful dessert was great.
