Went to have dinner tonight and didn’t know what to expect. What a wonderful experience we had. The food was fabulous and Ali was so friendly and passionate about his menu. Would highly recommend but remember to bring cash only.
Probably my fave restaurant in the city, period. Chef Ali js the man, he will whip up some of the best food you’ve ever had in your life while engaging in funny and thoughtful conversation. Every time I go here there’s some other group here who say they’ve been coming for decades. I got engaged here
This place is a gem. It’s a very small place with enough seating for 10-15 people. The proprietor is an excellent gentleman who cooks everything from scratch and serves it. He is also very warm and friendly. The food is delicious, full of flavors, made from ingredients that are very fresh.

One of the best dinners and evenings in my life. Ali greeted my boyfriend like a long lost brother and me the new girlfriend with a gigantic hug.
Don’t go expecting to eat asap. Ali takes his time, tells his tales, preps and cooks all by himself.

It’s like stepping into someone’s home kitchen. Chef/owner is super friendly and there’s no set menu. I had the fish and it was cooked so well.
Amazing. This is what you come to New York for. Owner/chef is a one man show who makes delicious and authentic Alexandrian Egyptian food. Come hungry and give plenty of time, about 4 hours. You will leave with an experience you won’t forget.

Absolutely phenomenal. Ali is a true artist, every dish that he served was exquisite and unique. The falafel was the best I’ve ever had, the mackerel was cooked to perfection, and the lamb was delicious as well. If you’re looking for a truly authentic and unique experience, this is the place to go.
