Tried this spot while staying in Astoria, an excellent bagel with many sandwich options and Korean food. I say this with all seriousness, it was pleasure to have Ben's balls in my mouth, they were very good and you should try them.
discovered Between the Bagel as part of a promotion. ordered a Pumpernickel bagel with Lox Cream cheese. superfirm bagel with a soft-ish crumb. generous serving of lox cream cheese. Flavorful cream cheese spread with a salmon-salty taste that hits all those classic savory notes. the owner is absolutely hilarious and friendly. the space has that old school New York vibe with some seating.
If you are looking for some delicious, unique flavors in your bagel, Between the Bagel in Astoria will not disappoint you. Ben makes crazy combinations with his Korean inspired bagels like SMB where you’ll find bulgogi and kimchi, or delicious DAPS with spicy pork. The moment you walk into this place you will feel it’s unique vibe. Oh and also, don’t forget to try Ben’s balls!
Owner (Ben) is hilarious to interact with and super friendly. We ordered the SMB (bulgogi bagel) and DAPS (korean marinated minced pork and cheese) bagel which were both amazing. Korean filling tasted authentic which took the bagel to the next level. 100% would recommend. Also tried the "Balls"- it tasted like a Korean version of an arancini- absolutely delish!

Food was fantastic! Definitely try the SMB breakfast sandwich (bulgogi, egg, and cheese with sauteed kimchi.) More than enough to satisfy a big guy from Texas. The owner Ben is a great owner/host. Very personable and kind. Complementary Ben's balls! (Bulgogi and kimchi arancini.)
Friend went there and sent a pic of the bagel sandwich and let’s just say it was such a mouth watering pic that I immediately drove out to get the same.

Ben is incredibly nice and helpful and they have a great selection of drinks, pastries, bagels and spreads. I got The SMB sandwich, kimchi arancini, and kimchi slaw. The sandwich was absolutely incredible- bagel cooked to perfection, bulgogi was so tender and flavorful. The arancini was honestly incredible, it’s honestly my favorite arancini out of them all. Truly genius. The kimchi slaw is irreplaceable and I will not be having coleslaw any other way from now on. This place is the perfect example of NY institutions remaining true to themselves while also incorporating new, fun, diverse flavors from different cultures that just blend so beautifully. I tried the bagels before and they are fresh and the Korean options are amazing but I advice to go there so you can experience the vibes. Ben and the employees are super nice and must try Ben's balls
Excellent bagels and sandwiches. Ben, the owner, is also great. They have freshly made bagels daily, my favorite is the egg everything but normal egg, normal everything, and onion bagels are also superb. Fluffy and soft as can be while still having some chew. On top of all this, it's pretty cheap, under $20 and two free bagels thrown in. They take credit card now as well, alongside Venmo and cash. Truly a neighborhood staple.
