Solid Cocktail & Craft Beer Bar With Good Victuals. My spouse and I dined at Front Toward Enemy today. The space is beautiful with comfortable seating and breathing room. One distraction is the orange-hued lighting which serves to darken the room until your eyes adjust somewhat to the low light level. The other distraction is the din of the crowd. The acoustics are such that the loud talk occasionally drowns out the soft music playing over the sound system.
We requested Mac & Cheese as a starter. The three cheese blend and breadcrumbs over elbow macaroni was creamy and filling. We agreed to share our entrée orders of Sauvignon Blanc Steamed Mussels and NY Beer Battered Cod & Chips.

This place was great, wood and brick inside, designed well. Live music on certain days, server Monica was very good. We came with a diverse age crowd, we had a great time, music was great. Food was amazing, had the duck brunch, was delicious. Brunch with unlimited punch is great idea, can't wait to introduce my friends to this place.

I love this place! I came here with a group of six (with the age range from 26-69, so it really is great for all) for their Punch Brunch. The space is hip and designed nicely. The tables and leather chairs are a nice touch. The lighting was quite dim, upon first entering, but we all adjusted. The music was played was old r&b, blues, it was really wonderful. There is alot of seating and space for big groups. Our waitress, Monica, was prompt, friendly, and just great. The food was great as well as the two complimentary punches, the Purple Drank Punch and the Love Drunk Punch. The price was absolutely reasonable, coming out to $20 a person for one dish each, atleast two drinks per, and four shared desserts. My group was planning on when to come back here again, before our meal was even over. We'll be back to try their dinner menu. Suggested: Purple Drank Punch Love Drunk Punch Scottish Smoked Salmon Slow Roast Duck & Beans Chocolate Pudding Sticky Toffee Pudding

I have been to this place at least 5-6 times. The food, the ambiance and the staffs are great. Love that they have jazz music some nights. My kind of place. I am a regular now! Their bottomless branch is to die for. Also, recently found out Des, one of the owner used to bartend another bar called Gabby's I used to go to. Good dude.

I love coming to Astoria and came here as part of an event which gave an another chance to make that long overdue visit. This spot is awesome , i wasn't expecting this to be this huge but it is really spacious and décor is old rustic with a hint of industrial touch. Coming to food and drinks there were a plenty of good options. I really liked the strawberry ginger drink. Sweet and chili flavored chicken were my favorites , there were also veggie and meat burgers and octopus appetizer. We also had a live acoustic performance. I will be back here soon!

A fun name for a bar, this local hangout sits under the limelight of Queens Comfort. Don't let that turn you away though. Ambiance is what brings in scores of locals to come nigh in and night out. There's a great homely vibe here you sure ought to check, as there are dart boards, pinball machines, and at times, live talent playing some nights. A reasonable gastropub menu complement the beers on tap. I've sampled some of the comfort food on-hand, and it works for what I'm looking for in a bar.

Dark, discrete interior that invites sessions of good talk. The front of the bar opens up to the street, which is pleasant in warm weather. We got cocktails one recent Friday evening: a whiskey Old Fashioned and a cognac Old Fashioned. Well-made, straightforward drinks. Decent sélection of independent beers on draught. Attentive, unintrusive service. Music thankfully not too loud. Atmosphere of a new-generation, inviting, local hangout.

The bartenders are great. They ask what you like to taste and will mix up something to your likes.
