Albatross is easily the best bar in New York City. You read that right. Of thousands of bars, hundreds of gay bars, and all 5 boroughs, Albatross is the best. Why? Chill atmosphere. Good people. Attentive, knowledgeable bar staff. An actual stage for the shows and events they have, with a top notch sound and lighting system. Management and owners who actually care about the people who come in and the neighborhood. Is it fancy? No. Is it swanky? No. Do they have food? No. It's a bar, not a restaurant, and you're in Queens, not Hell's Kitchen. Thank goodness for Albatross.
Don't waste time looking for any other place in any other borough. Take the N/W, the M60, Uber or Lyft. The only remotely disappointing thing is not finding a seat for the Grade A drag shows with some of the best performers out there. If I had to compare it to anything, it's the gay version of Lobo from the sitcom Roseanne. Rustic and irreverent but welcoming at the same time. Bartenders are great and friendly as well as the patrons.
Albatross is a fantastic Queer space that offers a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere. One of the main highlights of this bar is the fantastic drag shows that take place regularly. The performers are incredibly talented and always put on a great show, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained.
Moreover, the bartenders, including one of my absolute favorites, Gierre, are fantastic. They are friendly, attentive, and know how to mix a great drink. They always go above and beyond to make sure that customers are happy and having a good time. Their professionalism and expertise are truly impressive.
Overall, Albatross is a great place to hang out with friends, enjoy some fantastic drinks, and be entertained by talented performers. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is fantastic, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a fun night out.

A fantastic place to meet people and have a good time. Wednesdays are always lots of fun with Gayme Night, hosted by Avant Garbage. Fabrizio is behind the bar and does a friendly, fabulous job! Shows and games happen almost every night. You're gonna love it!
Scar, there’s no food!
But actually the staff here is amazing. I come by often on Wednesday nights which is “Gayme” night hosted by the incomparable
Avant Garbage and bartended by talented and attentive Fabrizio. They’ve really fostered such a welcoming community and safe place for queer people and the people who love us with Jack box games, Jenga, Mario kart/smash bros, werewolf, and the occasional twister
Also Sundays hosted Sherri Poppins bartended by Shane are a delight and a great send off to a stressful weekend to other hospitality industry people
Highly recommend.
