One of the best 🇮🇹Italian Deli in all NYC. From the minute I walked in I was treated like family. The owner even gave me samples of their house made mozzarella, as well as spicy and sweet Soppresata and this is all before I even placed my order.
The menu is extensive however, my order was based on rave reviews of the “Godfather” and “Sorriso”. Let me tell you both were mind blowing good, all meats fresh and bread seem like they get it delivered from next door bakery fresh. I can’t wait to come back and try their other homemade deli foods and of course another Hero.
The parking around the area can be difficult depending on time of day since its all paid street parking but nonetheless I will drive an hour again because it’s that good.
Keep up the great work Sorriso. You got a customer for life.
Stop what you’re doing and make a pilgrimage to what I think is the best little Italian market in the city. Cash only. The homemade mozzarella makes you want to slap your grandmother and don’t get me started on the RAVIOLI!!!! May they continue to thrive for another 44+ years
Absolutely top tier sandwiches, I order from them all the time and they never disappoint! Great ingredients and assembled with care, breakfast or lunch, they nail it every time! Love the Godmother and the chicken meatball sub!
Never been here and it was amazing! lol. I contacted Sorriso's because when my daughter fly's into NY she stops in and brings me the goods up in VT where I now live. Being a kid from NY I know the difference in meat quality and Sorriso's is the real deal. I contacted them to send me a care package to New Orleans where my daughter was getting married recently. Frank and Peter both put up with my nonsense (100 ph calls) to ask if they would do this for me and arrange for it to be overnighted and arrive at the time needed where I was putting out a spread for an event before wedding day. These guys treated me like I was their family, called me the day of shipping, called me when it had arrived and followed up that the product was what I hoped for. I should mention I do not believe this is a service they offer so its a perfect example of going far above and beyond for a customer. Sorriso's I can't thank you enough for pulling this off for me and I will be making a trip down to meet you in person. Thx guys!!
Having to cat sit nearby for a friend, I finally got the opportunity to go to the lesser known area of Astoria past Steinway. Sorrisos was my first stop when I was hungry! Absolutely incredible place. Everyone in Astoria should go!
This is a friendly, old school, cash only, Italian market. They sell meats, sandwiches, canned goods and cooked food behind the glass. The sandwiches are very good.
Big shout out to MAX!!! From sorriso Italian deli and meat market in Astoria Queens. Max is a sandwich guru of all kinds. This spot is a gem for all your Italian food palettes. A warm and friendly atmosphere with all day everyday except Sunday fresh Italian meats and goods. If you're in the mood for a delicious 😋 sandwich and Italian cuisine you got to give them a try
Old school Italian provisions. Sausage, meats, cheese, oil, balsamic. You know what I'm talking about. NYC market at it's finest.
It’s refreshing to see a meat shop that takes great pride in the products they serve. Their meats and cheese are always fresh, and offer the best in prime cuts and quality. I’ve been here on multiple occasions, buying items to cook fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, chicken Marsala, penne alla vodka, or just assembling a meat and cheese platter for guests.
Their customer service is the best. The employees will go out of their way to make sure your experience and products are the best. They’ve always offered me free samples of various cured meats and cheeses while I’m there, definitely widening my palate for the foods they offer.
The difference that is made when purchasing fresh products from a butcher shop and a super market is pretty crazy. If I compare two of the same dishes, one made with Sorriso products and the other with supermarket products, hands down Sorriso will always win.
Definitely give this place a try. Very much worth it for the price and quality.
They have a good assortment of Italian groceries and their salads, antipasto and prepared foods like arancini are delicious. They have a large menu of sandwiches you can’t really go wrong with.
I’m giving it 4 stars however because their prepared pasta dishes are lackluster which is unfortunate considering how good everything else is here. The meatballs are always really dense and not the most flavorful and the pasta sauces are a bit flat so I would definitely skip those. Everything else is definitely worth trying!
