Great taste and big portions! Super value meal considering how expensive the ox tails are nowadays. Tender, but not too soft. Staffs are very friendly. Coffee here is surprisingly tasty. A gem in Astoria!!!

Excellent food and incredible service. I went with a group to celebrate a birthday and the staff was so kind and thoughtful! Menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Dishes can be ordered individually or share-style. We shared and all our dishes were great- calamari and oxtail were extra delicious! For a casual restaurant at an affordable price point, we really appreciated some of the extra bells and whistles like complimentary wonton crackers and bread. The food arrived at a steady pace so there was always something hot, and they changed our plates between apps and entrees. They let us bring in a birthday cake. They let us split the check multiple ways too. You can go to a trendy restaurant with fussy rules and time limits where "everything comes as it's ready" so they can turn the table, or you can come here and be treated with warmth and hospitality and great food.

If you want the best service and delicious food, frequent Nuevo Jardin and experience the most divine combination of both worlds. Take the recommendations of the staff and your meal will be top notch. We loved the oxtail stew, squid ink rice with shrimp, short beef ribs, Chilean sea bass, tostones and sweet plantains with salad and cheesy bread to start and flan to end. The team here will remember you and treat you like family. My family and I love Nuevo Jardin.

Family go-to for years. Along with the other location on Junction Blvd. I prefer this location more. A bit smaller but lighter ambiance. Plus it's walking distance for me. Which helps fight off the fried rice calories. If your group is having trouble picking a place to go eat. You can't go wrong with Cuban Chinese. This is a fine example of that. At a price just a bit more than a take out spot. Great service with a large group or even when you just go alone for lunch. If I could change something it would be to use dark meat for the general tso's but it's still my regular order. Just get the special friend rice and homemade ice tea. Great with pretty much anything you order here.

I thought this was a little over priced, but the food was good and the portion size was huge. The pork chops were amazing and the rice was very good.

I was amazed by "squid rice with shrimp". It's cooked with squid ink. There is no fishy taste at all but all the goodie including red pepper, green pepper oinion, pea and of course squid and shrimp. The drink is amazing. Be careful, they are very very strong! Owners and servers are super friendly as well.

Best Chinese food outside of Chinatown! The tasty food is definitely the star but the friendly staff and comfortable booths make it fun place to be. Full Chinese menu and Spanish/Cuban menu - both cuisines done to perfection. Great place to go even for cocktails and appetizers. I recommend pina colada, mojito, margarita and any rum drink; martinis are made to perfection. The higher prices get you better quality food, generous portions and all the extras. First class in all areas. While I love Neuvo Jardin for the delicious food, I have come to rely on this friendly spot for a much needed cocktail and some tasty appetizers. It may be a refreshing mojito, a festive rum drink or an elegant martini. It is the perfect way to start the week or enjoy a mid-week treat and let's not forget the weekends!! Cheers to the best restaurant on Broadway!!

Only been here once but the owner was so sweet! We asked for the lunch special and he gave it to us even though the lunch special was over. The food came out quick. The prices are great for the food you get.

Very good pork chops and fried rice, too much fresh ginger in dishes that call for it (such as Mongolian beef) and I love fresh Ginger. My dish was swimming in it. Egg rolls were very stale, bean and wonton soup were excellent, avacado salad was perfectly ripe delicious, chopped it up and added soy sauce.

Pork chops and fried rice was amazing ! Please make a new menu, the one you have now is old fashioned and doesn’t do justice to the food

Old fashioned style Chinese and Spanish food, just like the good old days. Say hi to William for a rare friendly waiter experience in a very clean Chinese restaurant. Best in the Astoria. But a little pricey, recommend all the $12-13 lunch specials
