I ordered Catering for my Birthday Office lunch with coworkers. Since I'm form Puerto Rico, I wanted to show what our food is all about. They didn't let me down!! Food arrived on time, all hot and amazingly smelly. People were fascinated with the flavor! As for myself, Best Pasteles and Tembleque ever!! Highly recommend Freakin Rican <3

First of all excellent service !!! The waiter was amazing with checking in on us etc… On the other hand the food was perfect! The portions were good and it got me full. Price wise I think it’s affordable depending on what you order. My favorite dessert was the lemon sorbet. It was delicious and it was something that you just wanted more of. Overall I recommend this place to anyone that wants to dine in because it has both an excellent service and amazing food.

If you’re looking for real Puerto Rican food, definitely check this place out! I came here with glowing recommendations, and have come back every time I’m in queens. I can’t say enough about this place. The owner and staff are so friendly and kind. Lastly, the vibe is amazing. They have salsa playing and the coqui in the background. Definitely worth trying!

We came from Poughkeepsie to Queens to try out this Puerto Rican cuisine. I must say as far as the platting it was done very well. The food did remind me of abuelita and her cooking. Thank you freaking Rican for a great experience and ambiance. The wait was worth it.

I have been searching for someone within New York City that will have genuine Puerto Rican tasting food and at freakin Rican. I have found it. I could not help myself, but to order almost one of each and everyone of my favorite things to eat. I had an Alcapuria, empanada de queso, chicharrón de pollo, for diner I ordered the chuletas con arroz y gandules,y un pastel !! And finished off with a Flan!!, every single thing had amazing home flavors and guess what they have frozen Pasteles I took some home !!!

Outstanding Puerto Rican food. Fresh, full of flavor and colorful too. Many appetizers to choose from. Nice Lunch speciality menu. Desserts are great. Some spices are available for purchase, take home. Limited hours and some times are quite full settings. Worth a trip to Astoria to be Puerto Rican, for the Day.

Update 11-1-23* I just returned from vacation and seen your response. Thank you for replying however th timing is not valid. We were there at 5pm which was after the break. I would love to hear your thoughts and have an update. ** I took my mom here for her birthday. She saw the restaurant on TV and wanted to go. Definitely a small place and do not take reservations. Even if you are coming from Jersey. The decor waa good and Definitely remind me of Puerto Rico. The food was amazing. Even for my mom who is a critic for P.R. food. She is a boricua who can cook and you know how that goes. The only thing I can complain or say is that I felt we were being rushed to pick our entree. The lady came like 5 times in a matter of 2 minutes asking if we were ready. You can tell we wasn't especially we both were looking at the menus. I believe in good customer service however it was too extra. Let us enjoy the Aviance ans not feel rushed to pick our food. I know it's a small place ans they want to get people who are Waiting inside however there should be a balance. Other than that it was DELISH!

I’m not so familiar with Puerto Rican cuisine but after trying this place, I’m motivated to try more. I had the bacalaitos and the mofongo - both excellent and making for a very filling lunch. The place is small but has a lot of charm and service is friendly. And it is popular so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

The best pernil I've had in a restaurant! Tender, flavorful, juicy. Paired with trifongo which was absolutely sublime. We had alcapurria as a stater and it was the real thing. My husband has bistek encebollado and arroz con gandules which we would rate at a 3.5 - 4. A bit too dry, both, and the bistek should have been trimmed. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was great, it felt like home. There was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it.

Well, after we have to wait more than 1/2 hour, I order pork chops. They look delicious, but when I start to eat them, where hard and dry The waitress took another 1/2 hour to bring the check. I was too disappointment that's why I gave 3 stars 🌟 only because my friend ordered trifongo, and that was delicious 😋 😊

Staff was kind to guide me how to order and explain price is measured by pound. I got ribs and sirloin from BBQ counter, and it was about $18. I was so satisfied after finishing it. They have a TV, so I saw World Cup 2022 game. Great place to dine.
