You open an ordinary door, and suddenly it's 1963. The breads are fresh with crunchy crusts and piled high, the cinnamon bun was nicely dense, and not too sweet. Good gawd, even the coffee was perfect. A cheerful place of quality from a time when "carbs" was not a word of fear. And they have piz
I’ve been going here for 24 years. Get the corner slice of the Sicilian pie! And grab a platter of homemade cookies 🍪
My favorite croissants in the world, better than any I’ve had in Italy or France. Recently they had lemon custard filled croissants that were incredible. I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t think was really good. Pretzels braids, banana nut bread, apple muffins, and great pizza. They make sim
Best bread in the city hands down. Glad it's so close to the subway, so I can grab a quick coffee and buttered roll on the way to work, or a nice loaf on the way home to go with dinner.
Love Rose and Joe's. Love the rolls, Italian cookies mainly in the morning. If I stop by later in the day, I get the pizza. Everything is fresh and delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful.
Exceptional breads, tomato pie, fruit pies (I definitely recommend the apple crumb), and more. Extremely reasonable prices, and very nice staff. Wonderful small business, I'll be stopping by anytime I'm even remotely nearby.
Wish that I could give this establishment way more than 5 stars, because they certainly deserve it! Fantastic everything, but my faves are the Apple Muffins and Chocolate Linzer Tart Cookies!
Rose and Joe's Italian Bakery in Astoria-Ditmars Blvd is a hidden gem, their pastries are delicious. I recommend getting their zeppoles and banana nut bread, their pizza and sandwiches are valid too.
One of my fav Italian bakeries in NYC. Loooooove their pizza with tomato and olives. Plain croisants are also good ($2.50). Sugar free option available
My favorite bakery in the city thus far! Their iced lemon cake is so good and moist! Their Nutella croissants 🥐 are so delicious! Their semolina rolls are really Good too!
I am addicted to the crispy hazelnut meringue cookies half-dipped in chocolate! They have a subtle flavor of anise and cinnamon and eating one makes me want seven more. Try eating them with an espresso...omg!!!
I was going for a slice with a whole wheat (!) crust, when I noticed the Sicilian. "It just came out of the oven," she said. Sold ! And it was good.
Proud fan of Rose & Joe's since 2017! I don't miss a chance to bring home their mini chocolate dipped cannoli's when I fly home for the holidays. Pro Tip: You want them chocolate dipped in order to keep the shell crispy otherwise they'll get soft in whatever container you bring them on the plane in.
