It was a Saturday night. before Halloween We were in Astoria and were going to go to The Bohemian Beer Garden but it was a total mess with screaming kids and wasted teenagers we couldn’t find a server. It was loud and crowded! Yeesh. So we did a Google search for a place to eat in the area and just a few blocks down we were able to find this lovely oasis of peace and delicious food. We were there earlier and missed the music which would have been fun.

Dionysos is a very intimate Mediterranean dining experience. The food is perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. What sets this place apart from other greek / Mediterranean restaurants is their calamari. Each bite of that calamari is like a dream. I paired it with their house salad and everything was immaculate. The customer service is also top-notch. The food came out quick and the servers were attentive. All in all, visit this restaurant and experience for yourself what they can offer.
Very pleasant service and delicious food! Due to current conditions, I was the only diner at the time, but my Christmas dinner there was excellent! Too bad the menu didn't offer dessert, but the quality and atmosphere were worth the trip back to Astoria from Forest Hills.
This is some amazing Greek food. The dips were all delicious! We tried the branzino and a Greek salad and everything tasted great! The place is very basic, no frills but the food is what you go there for!
Can’t wait to go back!
Was shopping in Astoria and decided to take home some local food for din-din. This place had good looking photos so popped by to order takeout.
On the google menu it said the souvlaki platter came with both a potato side and salad but when I ordered it, she said I had to pick. She said she would add a small salad anyway... they were very nice and offered me a seat and water while waiting.
When I got the good home, I was super excited that it came with tzakiki and toasted breads. Unfortunately, the salad was packed with the hot food and had no feta or seasoning. Chicken had a nice charred flavor, but was super dry. Potatoes were pretty good, I added some thyme to liven it up. I feel this place is better for dining in...
The food here is delicious. It’s very well seasoned! The seafood pasta was full. The zucchini croquets and spanakopita were also seasoned to perfection. The pastitsio was great because the top layer was still soft and mousse like. They also have live Greek music on Saturday evenings late into the night which we will be back for without the nugget. Service was great even though we were the first people in Sunday at noon. Excellent food!
Great food and ABSOLUTELY SUPERB service. You can tell the restaurant is family owned and passionate about sharing their culture. Our waiter, Emmanuel, was full of recommendations, surprised us with grapes leaves &dessert when we mentioned celebrating a birthday, and would even talk us out of ordering too much food when we asked for help with the menu. Pictured is pork chop meal and seafood platter for 2, all good portion sizes, don't let the giant potatoes throw you off.
Excellent authentic Greek food, wonderful friendly service. A fairly simple room, but nice decor. We went on a Sunday evening and were the only guests, but they looked after us very well. Highly recommended. The roast lamb and lemon potatoes were divine.
We went on a Saturday night around 9. The place is classy and clean, the service was wonderfully attentive and warm, the food was good, and the excellent live Greek music... wow, what a great surprise. We had a memorable evening. We'll definitely be going back. Reccomended
For a Monday night, the place was dead. However, service was great and food was as expected.
