Review Sabor De Cuba - Astoria

Great little gem in Astoria. The food was delicious. I had the ceviche with plantain chips šŸ¤¤. The surf and turf was great! Their sliders, their apps with tostones, maduro and yucca frita so good! Their mussels were decent! It was honestly hard to decide on a dish because everything sounded so delicious. Luckily I was in a group so I had a bit of everything. Great spots for a regular hang with friends or as a date. Even great for celebrations. Definitely recommend coming here if you like Hispanic food. Their cocktails were decent. I loved their variety of music. I honestly didnā€™t want to leave because of the great music they were playing.

This hidden gem is SPECTACULAR!! you must come here. Food was delicious. First time I eat at a restaurant and take home no leftovers!!! Literally swept my plate clean. I went during brunch hours and got a plate of food with mimosa, sangria or Bellini for $23 the deserts are exquisite. We got flan de coco and tres leche and it was so creamy and tast!!!

Man, we loved this place! One of the best brunch deals in Astoria! Great, food, and ambiance, tasty sangria and the friendliest service!

Good drinks, Tasty food and the decorations inside feels like you feel like you're in a foreign place. The service was great also. Thanks!

I really loved how original their drink menu is, the wine bottle is the money and the red box is the food menu. Decorations are really nice, did not try the food but definitely tried the mojito and it was pretty good, will be coming back to try the food.

Loved this place! We were in NYC for a recent trip to the Met. On our way back home, we decided to stop by Sabor de Cuba. The food was awesome!

Our first time here and we will definitely be back. The #1 best empanadas I ever had and the salsa verde. Perfection. Update Today we had the empanadas of course anddd the fish special. Sooo delicious. Huge portions. The picante. Sooo good

Found this place when looking for delivery spots but based on the menu I waited as it would be more ideal to eat there. We finally made it over to find they have outdoor seating with heating lamps and spaced apart indoor seating. We got the: typical chicken empanadas - I have to say itā€™s the best ones Iā€™ve had which are corn based. Arepa with oxtail - tiny and well put surprises. Seafood Paella - good amount of seafood and great size for 2 people. Skirt steak with rice and beans - loved the steaks flavor and cooked perfectly. Definitely willing to come back and try more of their menu, so far you canā€™t go wrong with what you order.

Don't let the slick interior deter you, the food stands up, drinks are cosmopolitan and delightful, and staff friendly and flexible. Kid friendly, though you wouldn't guess on the first look. Everything from the simplest rice & beans to several different takes on fried proteins with accompaniment are perfectly cooked, savory, and delightful, and the sangria feels light and refreshing while packing a brunch-friendly punch.

Well I've never had Cuban food in my life, I was on a date with my girlfriend she's from Cuba she very much approved of this place she thought the food was cooked perfectly she also thought the atmosphere was great you should have seen the smile on her face said it all I would highly recommend this restaurant I'll guarantee you it's a home run! The staff was also very kind very fast polite very helpful I can't say enough about this place.

Service and food was fantastic! Authentic Cuban food! Small and intimate restaurant space with great ambiance. Will definitely come back! Ropa vieja was delicious and the coconut mojito.

I placed an order for pick upā€” it was a seamless process. When I got there, my order was wrapped up and ready to go. The Sweet plantains were amazingā€¦ some of the best Iā€™ve ever had. The ropa vieja was reasonably priced ($19) but was a tad bit drier than Iā€™m used to. The restaurant itself was a bit dark, but in a chill-vibe ambiance type of way. I would return; I would recommend to a friend.

The fact that my friend and I have been here at least 4 times this year (2 pre pandemic restriction and 2 post restrictions) says alot. The food is good and their sangria with passion fruit is differently good. The sanjito (combo mojito and sangria red or white) pitcher is addicting. So far all the appetizers we've tried are good though the chicken chicharon we thought was more like skins but they were just basically chicken nuggets. Main dishes well portioned and presented well. They have servers that are quite attentive.

My second time coming here. We were a party of 14 to celebrate my husband's 50th Birthday. Nikona was a rock star! He ensured we were all satisfied with food and service. Everyone was pleased with their drinks and food and said they will be returning at another time.

Really really good food... Excellent Ropa Vieja different from how I've had elsewhere but delicious, The (Vaca Frita) fried beef over a nest of sweet plantains was Salty/Sweetlicious! Can't wait to go back to try the other stuff and another margarita please! I'm sure the 4 stars will eventually turn 5

Good Cuban food. Tastes authentic. Even better drinks! Had a Mojito and the Churrasco but with Moro rice... šŸ‘ŒšŸ½ The pudin de pan (bread pudding) for dessert was my fave amongst the others (coconut/mango flan, coconut tres leches and choc cake).
