Considered the best sandwich in New York…
Believe me… it is!
These sandwiches are massive and delicious!
One of my favorite is THE BOMB!
Try it and you gonna thank me!
Always busy! Always fresh! Good price!
The Best!
Finally stopped in on my most recent visit to New York City. It wasn’t too busy around 11am on Sunday. Ordered online and went in and picked it up. I recommend ordering online because sometimes the lines can be really long I heard. Getting to the sandwiches, they were amazing. We got one of the American hero’s and one of the bomb hero’s. Both were delicious. Packed with meat and cheese. The prices are actually really reasonable for the portions. We had a good time. Will definitely be back once in the city again
This is definitely the best sandwich I’ve had to the day! They use high quality deli meats and it is noticeable. The flavors, texture and SIZE. These sandwiches are huge and budget friendly. $17 and it can feed 4 people well. I got “The bomb” sandwich and I enjoyed this way too much with my dad who went with me. All around good and definitely bringing my big belly friends with me to tear down some of this deliciousness.
Listen, I was skeptical that this place wouldn’t live up to the hype or price. How good can a cold cut sub really be? What SK&CD gets right is balance and quality. I asked for a pastrami with everything on it, and the after 3-4 minutes the man comes back laughing at the size of hero. It was $18 but you’re basically getting 2 subs for $9 each, so it’s actually a value play. Suffice to say it live up to the hype and I’ll be back!
This was our first time having this place. The sandwiches are huge and flavorful. They only take cash and parking is trouble but can park on the sidewalk. Overall good and wonderful staff.
Ladies and gentleman, let me introduce you with Sal, Kris & Charlie's Deli - the official Sandwich King of Astoria!
It took me a while to come here and try their well-known sandwiches.
Although this place works as a deli, where you can buy some basic groceries, they are famous after the largest sandwiches in Astoria!
Everything is super fresh, they are very busy, since all Astorians recognize their quality.
Food is prepared from scratches, in front of you.
I had The Bomb Sandwich, their special, fully loaded with a selection of Italian cold cuts, and two cheeses. It costs ONLY $17, weight 3lb (take a look at my pictures!), almost 3 inches in lenght, easily for 2 people!!!
My second recommendation would be The Italian Sandwich. It is their classic Italian sandwich that comes with salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, soppressata, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, sweet peppers, hot peppers, and oil vinegar.
They prepare their food with a lot of love and with smiling faces :) Thumbs up for these hardworking people and please always tip them.
Very clean, affordable place, very fast service, they know very well what they are doing. This iconic place is a must if you visit this neighborhood in Queens.
And be prepared to wait in the line.
CASH ONLY!
NO SEATINGS ON PREMISES!
well this place is everything that everyone said it is !! Good and a real sandwich KING. So if in the area , stop by you will not be disappointed.
Next beach day go here and pick up some heroes. It’ll hit the spot.
This is THEE spot to get your hero deli sandwich. First off these are massive heroes. For a lady like myself it makes a double meal, or halfsies with my boyfriend (maybe get some chips too for him lol). They also offer rolls, smaller, more 1 person size.
The deli meat is the perfect amount: stuffed but not excessive. The shredded lettuce is crisp and crunchy. The mayo gooey and bringing it all together.
Pricing starts as a hero with your select deli meat, then you add on each item which is a marginal cost, 50 cents to $1. Makes it customizable and like you always get what you want exactly.
Simply the Best. The experience is always delightful. The variety of baked goods and local production bagged chips keep it friendly. Speaking of friendly - the busy staff still gives you attention. King for a Reason. I'm a 30+ customer.
Small, tight old fashioned sandwich shop. Cash only and often very crowded. There is an ATM machine on site. Ordering can be a bit intimidating since there are so many options, but the staff is very patient and will assist. The food is fantastic and worth all the trouble. Parking is a nightmare!
