A Pleasant change of pace, I found this place using Google maps and I never had Greek food before, (I had gyros before) but not Greek. I ordered the pork gyro and the beef wrap.
They both turned out to be very tasty.
I definitely recommend this place to everyone
Good price for special lunch, portions are large. Tasty.
Delicious , fast , and friendly staff.
Small lunch rush in the restaurant but I didn't feel rushed at all to leave.
Recommend Gyro lunch special for a good deal
Love ordering food for pick up here whenever I'm in the area for their gyros and greek fries. Food prep is quick, depending on how busy they are it can be 10-15mins if calling in for pick up. If you like feta cheese I would recommend the Greek fries here. The Greek fries platter is larger enough to share although your not going to want to.
Food: Delicious. Nothing felt heavy or greasy, everything tasted fresh - hard to find in a Greek restaurant! The falafel was tasty, though I didn't expect it to be made with chickpea flour as opposed to ground chickpeas. So texturally it's more like a croqueta or hush puppy than the nubby falafels you might be used to.
Service: Very friendly, attentive, and efficient!
Space: Simple and clean, with a small dining area. But clearly they do tons of takeout orders.
Prices: Average to low, considering it's an eat-in establishment. A Greek salad was ~$12, a gyro was ~$9, baklava was ~$6.
Everything here is always so fresh! The owners are so on top of the quality of what they sell is not even funny, i just had the most delicious juicy beef and lamb kabob, tasted like homemade. Not gamy not garlicky just perfect amount of flavor and nothing overriding the taste of good quality of meats. That’s what I look for. I don’t need to eat over spiced meats that are being kept uncooked for days in salt and garlic. I want freshness and taste and this place is always good that way. I highly recommend.
The food was pretty good. That haloumi cheese and the greek fries great choice of appetizer. The gyro platter was huge, the meat was very fresh. Falafel sandwich was also very tasty. Quick service but the floor was so dirty, it looked like it wasn’t washed for some time.
I was here several times for lunch. They have delicious and fresh food at reasonable prices. I would not recommend ordering any wine at BZ Grill. Service was a little slow but overall good place to grab lunch.
First off, the food is amazing, and it is definitely the best Gyro spot in NYC. When you walk inside, it's not like a packed restaurant. The decor seems to be modern realistic. Very child friendly. Definitely recommend tourists.
BZ Grill certainly a staple in Astoria for all the folks who would like an authentic and affordable Greek meal. Perfect for a quick informal local lunch with a friend, this is the true New York experience. Their ingredients are always fresh and well seasoned, they are very generous on their tzatziki sauce and even if you ask kindly they would provide extra at no charge. They offer Dine-in, take out and delivery - always on time!
