5 star restaurant hands down! Highly recommend the $15 lunch special every week day. I got the vegan chickpea bowl and my boyfriend got the chicken yogurt sauce dish, it was so good I highly recommend that one if you are able to eat dairy, highly recommend the butternut squash soup. Servers are very respectful and attentive. Definitely a gem and will return. Vegan and gluten free friendly.
INCREDIBLE INDIAN FOOD!! This place has everything you’d want and the service is very good. We went for the lunch specials, where you can get a giant samosa or a soup + and entree for $15. Great deal. Very large naan. We are excited to come back!
Went for the lunch special which is $15. Food was delicious, service was good, and the vibes of the restaurant was great. I liked how the music wasn’t too loud. Interior is beautiful. Every bite I took of this meal was perfection. I was too scared to try vindaloo this time but will definitely do so next time! Can’t wait to be back!!
One of the better Indian restaurants in the area and a personal favorite. Everything was delicious and decently priced - you can get 3 courses for $25. The naan was perfect as well as their paneer. Can’t wait to come back and try out more of there options since they offer a lot!
Incredible authentic Indian food!! We got the Navarattan Korma and Chicken Korma with Garlic nan. All very tasty! The staff was very friendly as well. Coming back again soon!
Amazing Indian food! The service was excellent and prices were reasonable. The menu offered lots of different dishes and portions were generous. Highly recommend!
I forgot that I came here once before a little over 7 years ago - I loved the food then, and loved it all over again. I unintentionally got the same thing (Baigan Bhartha) but apparently enjoyed it just as much as I did last time. It has a nice slow kick even though it was "regular" (i.e. least spicy), but it wasn't overwhelming and the various spices came through nicely.
I also had their butternut squash soup which was divine! Very smooth, lightly sweet from the butternut squash, but balanced with with savory spices but especially the caraway seeds that were sprinkled on top. An excellent flavor profile. I couldn't eat all the soup at the beginning of the meal because it was actually almost too hot to eat. But halfway through eating my main entree, I was able to finish the soup and it tasted so good in between bites of the Baigan Bhartha.
The boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his Lamb Korma. We were both very satisfied with our meal, and we both had at least half of our entrees as leftovers. Letting those herbs and spices marinate together even longer made for delicious leftovers.
They very clearly indicate on their menu which items are vegan. Most of the entrees are by default gluten-free, but there were not many breads or appetizers that were gluten-free aside from the soups.
This place doesn’t have any unique Indian food items but good for regular Indian food. We got the saag paneer and lamb vindaloo. Lamb vindaloo was spicy but good!
Glad to have found this place as we were deciding on where to eat while walking down the strip of many many options to dine. The pleasant interior and big windows immediately drew us in-- and the fact that Indian cuisine never disappoints ;)
We selected from the 3-course Prix Fix menu that included an appetizer, main course and dessert of your choice. I ordered the Lamp Spring Roll, Vegetable Tikka Masala with basmati rice, and Kheer to end the delicious meal. I really enjoyed the crispy, lamb roll which tasted very fresh and well seasoned. It's an easy recommend in my books.
As for my sister, she ordered the Chicken Samosa, Aloo Gobi Matar with rice, and Gulab Jamun. She recommends getting the samosa and the sweet honey dessert ball. The Aloo was good, but flavor-wise, was quite monotonous compared to the well-liked Masala we know it for. Although we both ordered regular spice and the dishes were not noticeably spicy at first, the spice did slowly creep up on us. Thankfully, our server was attentive and made sure our glasses were full at all times.
This is definitely the go-to Indian fare for the locals and visitors!
Best Indian food in Astoria. Great prices, excellent portions, and I can’t tell you how friendly the staff is. I’m so grateful to have Seva in the neighborhood. I’ll never go anywhere else when I need the best samosa I’ve ever had!
