I was fortunate enough to visit this establishment years ago, it definitely wasn’t updated as it had old picnic tables and seating. Meaning, it was all natural. We sat on huge boulders with a large pit fire going…. during the fall season it was cold but, not cold enough to keep you indoors. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with fire acrobatics performing amazing fire dances. I can’t express myself enough, it was one of the most wonderful times I had while visiting this amazing place called Asheville NC. I’ll most definitely be returning for another visit in the near future…….

Really cute, great atmosphere. Good draft list and great seasonal drinks. A little on the pricey side for an Asheville bar but not too bad at all. Lots of space and seating.

My sister had her graduation party here, it’s so beautiful and open. We had so much fun and the waitresses made us feel so welcome. They also have such a great alcohol menu that you don’t get up north. I actually brought a few little recipes with me and my friends up here were impressed! I told them where it came from and they said they will be visiting there in the future for sure. Thank you for such great memories and I love the tiki theme you guys have! I know I’ll be back 💝☺️

Everyone loves The Bywater. It is very laid back, casual and has a great beer selection along with a full bar. They have tons of outdoor space both on the river or in their backyard. A large bonfire makes even a slightly chilly day enjoyable outside.

Love this place. Great craft cocktails. Perfect place for spring or fall evening around a fire outside. One of the first bars I went to when I loved to Asheville. The one downside is they don't serve food and dontl always have a good truck. I really wish you could consistently count on there being a good truck here. This is also a great place to pull off the river at and do a barbeque picnic. The live music is often great and the porch can turn into a dance floor!

Great staff in a pretty cool building. I think this is more of a seasonal place considering all the outdoor space. It wasn't very busy because it was cold out but there is still plenty of indoor space to enjoy. I can't wait to go back in warm weather.

great local beer selection right on the river. It's a private club so you'll have to join if you want to drink. They don't always have music, but when they do it's usually really good. Super cool local hangout.

This is a great place to drink directly by the river. There is a lot of outdoor seating, and it has a generally nice atmosphere. Food is from a food truck, which the BBQ one we had that day was very good. This is a great place to hang out and spend the day at. There aren't a lot of places like this, even in Ashville.

Located on the French Broad River. Dozens of beers on tap, yummy bar food, and a great atmosphere. They have grills and picnic tables if you want to bring your own food, and a (usually) a bon fire. A favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Amazing place to grab a brew or drink and sit by the river for a few hours with a bunch of friends. Indoor seating is also available, but you won't want to miss the view. Lots of local character as well. Super dog friendly and lots of wander area for small kids

FYI - this is a private club, but anyone can join for $5, and you can bring unlimited guests. With that bit of info out of the way. This place is a great place to just hang out at all day. They have a great selection of alchohol, or you can bring our own, a restaurant, or you can bring your own food and cook on their park charcoal grill. It is right on the French Broad river and you can put in a kayak, tube etc... from there, or you can make it as a pit stop as your floating down the river! Really a cool place!

Very cool spot to grab a drink. Several fire pits set up for hanging out. Lots of patio and grass seating areas and picnic tables right by the river so you can watch the tubers float by. A friend took us here and I have to say we were very pleased. I had the Lloyd and it was quite delicious. I ate the whole thing and it was big! I'll definitely be back here.

Great outdoor area and good selection of beer on tap and mixed drinks. The drinks are fair priced. The bar requires a membership but guests can sign in under one member. I think it was $3 for a lifetime membership.

Tons of outdoor space, but it's extremely difficult to get a beer when the bar is busy. There is usually only one or two bartenders at a very small bar for a business that has a very large outdoor capacity. This hasn't been a problem recently, however; since it is no longer legal to park on the side of the road, they have had a lot less business.
