Mount Road Fish & Chipery

Delicious! Haven't had fish and chips for a long time and was really looking forward to it and it was just how I wanted it to be. Everything was cooked perfectly, the fish had great batter and the chips had just the right amount of crunch. It took me back to my favourite fish and chip shop in NZ as a kid. Next time I'll be trying one of those burgers!

I am writing this review before I even eat my fish and chips which I am so excited about but this review is important. I highly recommend this place. The lady that owns the shop was so extremely nice and maybe even a little crazy but in a very nice way. After giving us directions to the closest ATM because they only accept cash, she was extremely apologetic and explained the tough life of a small business owner having to deal with bank fees and that is why she has no eftpos, to keep the prices low for the customer. When I gave her a very small tip, she tried to offer me a free drink, which was extremely nice. Oh I just started eating the chips and they are awesome. Oh wow. so good

Nice big pieces of fish. Thin bit of skin on, so you know you're getting what you asked for. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the drinks selection was great. They even had ginger beer! My husband ordered, but he said the lady was very friendly and accommodating. Not our neighbourhood, but I pinned the address to my map so I can find it again.

To the guy that said the place looks dirty and grimy, its just an old shop mate and if you bothered to try the food your view on the place would do a complete you turn, go give it a shot ;) First let me say that i am a bit of a burger fanatic and need to eat atleast one a week otherwise i go a little crazy. So do not take this review lightly because i take my burgers very VERY seriously! I always get the burger meal deal which includes your choice of chicken, beef or chicken schnitzel with the lot and small fries and a can for only 10.50 (beef) or 11.50 (chicken). Talk about value for money, and thats before we get to food! Meat is always cook to perfection and tastes delicious, ingredients always taste very fresh and the chips rock. If this review still hasn't won you over then you should just pop down to meet Tina as she is the nicest person EVER! Hope my review wasnt too long sorry i just love burgers :D
