Review Via Arenella Ristorante - Arlington Heights

Amazing food! Every time we go here, I am impressed with how flavorful the food is. The pasta is perfectly cooked and I have never been disappointed. My husband had the mussels pasta and was very impressed with the flavor. It was so good that my 8 year old swiped it from him! The pizza is excellent and the crust is the perfect texture. The children's pizza was big enough for my 10 year old son to be filled up! Nothing is skimpy. Highly recommend! I also like the idea of supporting a local business.

Stopped in after running some errands and was pleasantly surprised! Had the gnocchi with vodka sauce and it was addictive to say the least. Both the gnocchi and the sauce tasted homemade - had to stop myself from finishing the whole plate. The price was nothing to complain about either - totally reasonable. Definitely will be coming back again to try some new dishes!

My wife and her family had been loyal to the owner here for years. We really enjoy the food. We heard they were going out of business, so we wanted to get food. We ordered using the Slice App. When I was in the parking lot, received an email that the order was cancelled. My wife called and was put on hold. No one responded to her. I walked in, saw the phone line still on hold, and asked why the order was cancelled. The host went to the kitchen and asked about it. The person she talked to told them that they cancelled it because it was too busy....WHAT??!!! The host went on to say that the order, which was already a half hour in, would take at least another 40 minutes... All we ordered was one pasta dish. I was in the restaurant business for 17 years, at basically every level, I have never had anything like this happen. I also never cancelled an order. I was a sautee cook, and specialized in pasta dishes, it takes a couple of minutes to put one together, if done correctly. I now see why they are going out of business. If you are running a restaurant correctly, you're not cancelling orders due to being"too busy". You also NEVER express that to the customer. Thanks for nothing and wasting my time

Excellent food and service, rundown strip mall location makes a visit here seem more utilitarian and not like a night out. Four of us all got different dishes and the food was excellent. The gnocchi in particular was fantastic and truly home made. The risotto was not as heavy as most, and the flavors more nuanced. The only drawback is the location. I do not think this place would have survived if they were not already established with their other restaurant. That said, the inside decor is nice, but I still would not take guests from out of town or business associates because the dilapidated exterior of the mall.

My boyfriend and I have come to this restaurant a few times now and I've always had wonderful dishes, great service, and an all-around awesome time. One of the waitresses Rose could not have been more lovely. She gave us suggestions, and always seemed honest. My boyfriend and I will definitely go back with some of our friends this restaurants in the near future!!!!

There are not many restaurants where the experience is this comforting. All aspects of our dine out were a pleasure. we sat at the bar and one of the owners served us , treated us as if we were his only customers but I noticed everyone was getting the great service. The food was fantastic! I mean FANTASTIC great choices on the menu. Absolute five stars!

I'd love to rate the food, but it never made it to my house . I ordered via Slice & I got an ETA of 4:45. AT 5:07 I heard nothing so I contacted Slice. They told me the driver tried to deliver but that someone at the house said no one ordered the food. The restaurant called me & told me the same thing. I told them that I'm the only person here & that no one came to my house. The guy on the phone confirmed my address & I told them to please deliver the food. He told me that if he delivered to the address then it would go to that wrong house. Uhmm, I asked them to use your GPS & go to the correct house, he said the GPS was telling him to go to the other house... I just game up & canceled the order, it's just not worth it .. good luck & get new drivers.

We've been enjoying this family's Italian restaurants since the 1980s. We love the mix of the original family recipes with great new dishes and amazing pizza. My husband, without fail, will order the chicken Vesuvio, which is the best around.

The services was dry, slow and the food was just okay. We ordered the melenzane & crostini for an appetizer and it was just a large pile of bland mush on a crostini topped with mozzarella. In addition we ordered a sausage thin crush pizza which was why we wanted to try this place in the first place after trying it at the Taste of Arlington Heights and it didn't disappoint - honestly it was the only thing keeping this rating from being below 3 stars. We'll probably give them another try, but might stick to just pizza rather than an entree and or appetizer.

Best Italian food around!!! Great service, great food, the staff treats you like family and the prices are amazing for the quality and quantity of food you get. I don’t like eating Italian food out because I am Italian and love to cook but when I don’t have the time this is my family’s go to spot..

We went the first week they were open, and were not very impressed. We decided to give them a second chance and loved it this time! We had a wonderful service, our appetizer and wine were delicious, and the New York style pizza was to die for!

I've been there and ordered out multiple times since it opened and have yet to be disappointed! I recently had the gnocchi with bolognase and not only was it delicious, I ate it for three meals. The chicken parm sandwich is two meals and delicious also. Great place, great food and super close to home.

I had a wonderful experience at Via Arenella. The owner, Franco and our server, Nicole were extremely friendly and passionate about the restaurant. The Penne Bolognese and Calamari is to die for!

Amazing!! What a find & only 5 minutes from our home. Everything from the atmosphere to the service was wonderful & it was a fantastic dining experience. Now let's talk about the food....WOW! Amazing, excellent, fabulous-this was some of the best Italian food I've had in a very long time, all served to the table fresh, and piping hot! One word of warning… The servings are large and the appetizers, bread and salad can fill you up… You may want to go planning to share a meal or bring a doggy bag. I know we each brought home enough for a few more meals.

Service was very bad. Good food, and it was really good, can't make up for the inadequacies of bad service and a slow kitchen, 45 minute wait for food.

Delicious! I had the sausage pizza for the first time yesterday with a few coworkers and EVERYONE loved it. My family owned a pizzeria before so we know homemade pizza and this certainly exceeds our standards. Proper balance of cheese, sauce, and dough. They do not cheap out, Kudos! Can’t wait to try more on the menu!

The food was delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere was friendly and the family traditions were apparent. We need more places like this in Arlington Heights with home made food and a modern stocked bar for anyone looking to enjoy a drink. We had an amazing time and will definitely return.

Awesome Italian food. These folks really know what they are doing. Service may be problematic at times because of new waitstaff but the food is outstanding. Don't pass up the peppers.
