The Hideout is one of my favorite restaurants in California. The menu is amazing, and the staff and service are terrific. They even have a great children’s menu. The food is priced well and the portions are good sized. I love that the owners are onsite...and bussing tables! Love this place!
Visiting my son this weekend and came he for the first time. Service was fantastic as well as the food. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates appetizer plate!
We had a large party of 14 and all of us were very pleased with our choices! The service staff was attentive and thoughtful and the food and drinks delicious...we'll be back!
Had dinner there last night. Order the house salad and Kalua pork quesadilla for starters. That quesadilla was amazing! We were so full we had them pack up our entrées, pistachio crusted chicken and the Petrale sole piccatta to take home. Jessica, our waitress was a doll! We will be back!
We're regulars. We enjoy the seasonal menu out on the patio. We have liked every dish we've had. I love the neighborhood hang out feel.
Great location, easy to get to with elegant yet relaxed and comfortable ambience. A favorite for our family and friends.
Great food and drink. Love the patio and the wonderful service!

I love the ambiance and the food is outstanding. It’s not pretentious in any way. Very special dining. Outside dining as well.
Amazing service, happy serves, great food, delicious drinks....I love the Hideout.
Great burger! Nice ambiance, excellent staff. Overall a perfect restaurant.
Best food, best people! The Hideout team is not only dedicated to great service of food, they're dedicated to great service to the community. Their ongoing support to Jacob's Heart and children with cancer is unparalleled.
Service was amazing, our waitress was extremely nice, helpful, and cheerful. Checked in on us multiple times and made suggestions when asked.
Menu had a variety of options from salads, burgers, pastas, and appetizers. Plates and appetizers were good portions, more than usual. Plates were $30-40 each. Appetizers were $10-20 each.
Ranch is thick & creamy, gotta give props when someone has good ranch.
As an appetizer I ordered the Mac & Cheese with bacon. Was impressed by the large portion and well worth the extra 2 bucks for adding a huge amount of bacon. I enjoyed the flavor but wished it was more cheesy. The top was drying and I had to dig to the bottom for the cheese, which was more watery than expected. Personally, I prefer thick ans creamy cheese. But still worth the 16 buck price as it was a large portion.
I ordered the Salmon Risotto for my main dish. Salmon was perfectly cooked, just didn't have much seasoning on its own. Sauce was creamy and flavorful. Risotto is in my top 5, really loved the flavoring. The combination of Salmon, sauce, and Risotto worked in a beautiful harmony.
But the veggies were my least favorite & the reason for not getting the 5th star. Green beans and yellow squash. Now, I love vegetables, but these were not it. Took a bite and they were bland. Only after adding salt and pepper was I able to enjoy the green beans. But the squash I gave to my grandma, she prefers bland. They were also squishy from being overcooked(the squash). Maybe they have no flavor for people to season on their own? I'm not sure but I was disappointed with the steamed veggies.
My family ordered burgers and the pastrami sandwich. They had large meat portions to where my uncle and cousin were full & pleased. I tried the Chipotle Aioli and was impressed.
With the immaculate service and overall great food, my family and I enjoyed this restaurant experience. Would highly recommend.
📢Big shout-out the The Hideout 🤤
We always feel like family when we visit and I personally know most of the servers and they are the best of the best✨
They are poppin right now, so don’t be surprised if you have to wait, but once you are in you will get your food and beverages real quick ;).
📸In the picture: top is the wedge salad with steak and bacon, below is the very very creamy and delicious mac and cheese, and right is their 1/2 size of the Hideout salad with shrimp. We also came back and tried their chicken sandwich pictured below**
First trip to the Hideout and very much enjoyed it. It’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, as it’s set back from the road behind a small parking lot (if the lot is full, there’s parking along the other side of the road). Food was good and service friendly. Tried their lunch special - blackened mahi mahi with slaw, onions, and lettuce on an onion bun. Very nice.
First time at the Hideout in Aptos. We didn’t really know what to expect from this restaurant and bar. First thing we noticed was the prices were a little on the high side which we were not expecting. However when we received our meals we were extremely pleasantly surprised. The food was out of this world. We had the barbecue wings, shrimp Louie salad, and a short rib dinner entrée. The short ribs were the most tender meat I have ever tasted. No knife needed. The atmosphere was great and The service left nothing to be desired. Definitely recommend
The food was amazing and so was the service. Brussel sprouts were to die for, and sitting outside with the heaters on was perfect ambiance. Photo is one of the salads, which was super fresh and tasty!
Came here for dinner and had the Mahi Mahi and Brussel sprouts. We were seated right away and chose to sit indoors next to a nice fireplace. The outdoor seating area is absolutely beautiful as well, and has heating and small fire pits. The food was fantastic, service was wonderful and the whole experience was great! I will be coming back again soon!
This place is such a gem! The staff are attentive and friendly. The combination of indoor and outdoor space offers plenty of seating options. As great as all of this is, the food and cocktails are what make this place! They have an excellent menu and we have enjoyed every meal we have ever tasted. My personal favorite is the salmon risotto.
Great resturant tucked away along highway 1. Patio is dog friendly!
