Great dining experience. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was good. Ordered tenderloin with lobster bites on the side. Husband ordered the prime rib. Both were cooked to order. We both added a stuffed shrimp with our meal. The stuffed shrimp was by far my favorite and recommend it. Recommend a reservation and would for sure eat here again.

Wonderful service and great food! Will go back next time we are in the area. Would recommend calling ahead for reservations on the weekend.

Love the Nut Shell. Lots of homemade, gluten free options. Fun atmosphere. Chris, bartender and owner, and Paula, chef and owner do a wonderful job. Easily one of the best restaurants around Antigo.

An amazing, family run restaurant! The steaks are consistently delicious and cooked perfectly to order. My personal favorite is the bone-in ribeye because is full of flavor, but the tenderloin is so tender you can cut it with a butter knife and the prime rib is the best in the area! There is also a wide selection of seafood offerings that can be added to any meal or ordered separately. The burgers are also a great addition to the menu along with their new appetizer offerings... The whole family is welcome and there is something for everyone! (I ordered my prime rib medium-well and it was just what I expected! Mouthwatering!!)

Chris and Paula make anyone who comes in feel like family. They have great drinks, great food, and great conversation!! Anything you get on the menu is delicious. Their after dinner drinks and desserts are also to die for! Definitely worth the drive 😁 try the onions tangles with Chipotle ranch, their tender prime rib, grilled or stuffed shrimp, chicken wild rice soup, and any of their rich desserts!

We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful place to eat in this rather remote area. As “first timers”, we were welcomed and treated with friendliness. One person in our group is gluten-free and she had multiple options. I am a vegan and it can be very challenging to find things to eat at restaurants. I had no problem finding enough to fill me up. As for our meat eating / fish eating friends - we had thumbs up all around the table. With a table of 10, there can be serving issues - we had no problems. Our waitress, Angelica, was efficient and friendly. What a gem of a place. (I am curious why it is named The Nutshell”.)
