El Tequila

Omg, this place is amazing. From the outlandishly large margaritas to the sprawling menu of delicious Mexican-style entrees to the lovely decor, this was one of the best meals I've had all year. I absolutely loved it. A surprisingly excellent dining experience in an unexpected location with beyond reasonable prices.

This is sit down fast food. By that I mean about 5 minutes from order to being served. Food was hot and proper, it was what it said and the portions were good. The food was fine and the wait staff was good. Just nothing special. Kinda like a table service taco bell, nothing wrong with that if you want a quick lunch, but not really a place that you would go for a nice dinner or take a date too. Margaritas were very good. The one thing that was kind of odd was the TVs all over the place. Kind of like a sports bar but not playing sports. When we were there it was local news and political shows. Not really what I would like to watch while dining. All in all, it's not a bad place to eat, but I wouldn't consider it a great dining experience.

As far as I know, this is the only Mexican restaurant in Antigo. My oldest really enjoyed the Tilapia. The other two had cheeseburgers, I believe. They don't care for Mexican food. I thought it was okay. However, I live in a very Hispanic area and close to Milwaukee. So, I've had better tacos elsewhere. However, I would visit again and try something else off the menu . The margaritas are good 👍

We were in town and hungry, so stopped here because my husband’s coworkers regularly recommend El Tequila. Busy, but still received very fast service. Margaritas were great and refreshing- we ordered 2 large ones with Patron. Split the fajitas for 2 with shrimp, chicken, and beef. It came out on 2 separate hot skillets with 2 separate plates of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and lettuce. Plenty for leftovers. Dessert was flan. Service was quick and friendly, food was out fast and hot. Flan was really creamy and wonderful. My only complaint is that the fajitas were pretty bland. Almost no seasoning. Some grilled jalapeños and salt & pepper would have gone a long way! I will be spicing up the rest that I brought home. Four stars because the food was fresh, service was friendly.
