Star Sushi

Charged 4 dollars for 6 pieces of cucumber baby rolls and 4 pieces of avocado and cucumber baby rolls with only half of the normal portion of ingredients presented were not at good value. Also too much sushi vinegar was mixed with rice so it tasted extraordinarily sour. They are simple dishes and yet underwhelmed. Ordered a bowl of spicy pork yakisoba. The favour was there but there was a little portion of pork. It looked likes I was eating scrap of food leftover. Will definitely not visit again - even the sushi section in Groceries tastes better than them.

$3.50 for all plates is good for a sushi train. The problem is it's not a great sushi train. Some of it felt dodgy, which is not what you want when you're eating raw fish. The plates ranged from "fine", "adequate", "serviceable" to "this creamy sauce tastes cheap & sickly" and "is this chicken cooked properly?" I'm giving it 2 stars because the guy in charge of it was friendly and accommodating, it's well priced, and about half the dishes are passable. Would I go here again for another meal? Probably not.

Been going to this place for a few years and loved it. Unfortunately under new ownership this restaurant has changed completely. The sushi train was pretty much empty, no one making fresh sushi at all. All cooking is now done in the kitchen. The ventilation doesn't work at all and you walk into a room smelling like deep fryer. When we left our clothes and hair literally stink! The sushi train itself is old and needs a complete revamp. We had to order from a menu, as there was nothing edible on the train. After 20 minute wait we told them we didn't want our roll anymore. They brought it out and it was so poorly rolled that it didn't even stay together when we tried picking it up. Needless to say we didn't eat it and left. Shocking! Never again!

Horrible experience. Saw a hair in the sushi and called the waiter over and he laughed and said he could not see it. The waiter was arrogant and rude. They also wanted us to eat sushi that was two hours old. If we had that sushi Food poisoning would be a high risk. All ingredients were not fresh and were cold. My partner and I go to Japanese restaurants every week and this is by far the worst experience ever. Neverrrrr going here again. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

I have been coming here for years at it must have changed hands. To be honest I'm not one to leave reviews but it needs to be said that this place has seriously gone way downhill. Frozen pieces of raw fish, very Western techniques with sweet sauces that very average and even the soy sauce tasted off. If this was my restaurant I would want to know that the standard was seriously below average. I even had her work colleague tell me how bad it has become but I doubted him and needed to check for myself. Needless to say he was right. Little things like no scallops and no mineral water might be first world problems but this never used to be the case

Wasn't sure what I was going to get when I randomly popped into this place for takeaway but to my surprise the food was absolutely terrific. The wait was a little longer than I'd hoped for but this meant very little once we got home and tasted the food as it was delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.
