Village Kitchen

This has become something of a default lunch choice for us on Sundays. The food is hearty and the service is excellent. Every time i've asked for a modification to a menu item, it's been done with cheerfulness and care (stupid medical limitations... argh!). Between myself, my husband and my two grandkids, we have sampled nearly everything on the menu and we all agree that this is a great spot to eat.

I went on a Sunday around noon. There were several empty booths. No sign as to wait to be seated. I did wait. A server came up to me. She was aloof and after asking if I was there for carry out and finding out I was alone and wanted to be seated. Sat me at a very small booth. Situated right next to a larger booth full of people. I waited 5 to 10 minutes. No one offered me anything. Then they sat a big party at two booths adjacent to me and immediately took drink orders etc I gathered my things and left telling the hostess/ maybe owner briefly of the scenario. Menu looked ok. But very dissatisfied with their attitude/ lack of service. Won’t be back nor recommend it to others.

This diner is my special treat to myself whenever I'm on the west side of Ann Arbor. They serve all of your favorite breakfast foods and they always cook them perfectly. The service here has always been great. Undercooked hash browns? Never here. I love the laid-back, old-fashioned, small-town diner atmosphere. They have so many delicious things on the menu I'm never going to be able to try them all. My advice: bring friends and share.
