We'll I've never been too Italy like Lori. But the food is fabulous and it's not pretentious. Yes it is crowded (usually a good sign) but I've found if you're easy going and just get a drink it will all work out. And if you want good gin maybe you shouldn't go to an Italian resturant. But enough negativity. It is small and packed so just keep your party small and be patient and the food is well worth it.
Good Italian & Steaks. This restaurant was recommended to us as a good place to get steak without going into Houston. We arrived at early dinner (5:15PM) so they were not too busy but the food still took a good while to come out. We ordered the ravioli frita to start while I had the tenderloin medallion salad and my husband had the homemade gnocchi and we ended our meal with tiramisu. The food was very tasty and my tenderloin medallion salad had three huge pieces of steak! The ravioli frita, gnocchi, and tiramusu were good but nothing special. The atmosphere was very pleasant (appropriate Italian music, good lighting, great spacing of tables) and our waitress was very attentive I only wish the food didn't take so long.
Have eaten here several times and everything has been good! Worth the wait EVERYTIME!! YUMMY!
GIOVANNIS. REALLY GOOD ITALIAN BUT EXPENSIVE
I love this place! Don't go if your in a hurry, it can be slow but I don't care I love the food. The crabcakes St Charles are just amazing! Another of my favorites is the shrimp Parmesan, stuffed shrimp is pretty good too. It is small and intimate, probably not the best place for small children, we left our two yr old with Grandma. We will definitely be going back again and again.
Asparagus primavera loaded with big cuts of tasty veggies and the dinner salad was LEAFY, green, tasty, packed with cheese, and had a decent amount of cucumber, tomato, and olives as well.
Puts a hit on every other Eye-talian joint out there!. Fuuuuuh-ghetaboutit!!!!! Food was out of this world. When we pulled into the parking lot for my niece's birthday dinner, I was surprised to see so many cars, because who would think a mom-and-pop Italian eatery in Texas would be worth anything?
When we sat down (we had reservations, a good idea!), my mind changed immediately. We had a waitress in training, who was coached better than the Dallas Cowboys, and it showed. She attended to our every need, including my nap-needing 3 year-old daughter! The complimentary baked on site bread with olive oil dipping plates were amazing. I had a rib eye steak that was "Texas Sized", but tasted better than ANYTHING I have eaten anywhere else in this state, with a Italian style sauce that was to die for. I was dared to drink it off the plate, and happily did it, to the disgust/delight of my daughters. The side Caesar salad was as delicious as it was enormous, but it's flavor was nothing in comparison to the herbed veggie medley that was the second side dish.
Everyone else's plates were over flowing with pasta, sauces, shrimp and what not. Even my 3 year-old's spaghetti and meat ball plate left her speechless; she was too busy trying to get as much of the delectable dish in her as it was on her chin!
If I could find a fault with the place, it would be the prices ($19 for my steak and 2 sides), but since I took it home to eat again anyway, its like eating two $9.50 meals. I just wish Giovanni's was closer to Corpus Christi so I could try everything on the menu!
I would give this place 6 out 4 stars, because it is THAT awesome!!!!!!
Giovanni's, Angleton is my new favorite Italian Restaurant!!! The Tomato Basil Soup was the Best I have ever eaten!!!
We have been here many times and the food is always fantastic. The only problem tonight was the kitchen was running very slow. My husband checked his watch when we ordered our dinner and it was close to an hour and a half by the time our dinner arrived. Fortunately this is a rarity and they may have been having a slow night. The dining areas can get quite loud due to the small rooms and crowded tables; especially if you're sitting near a table of enthusiastic drinkers!
This is the best restaurant in the area. Try the crabcake st Charles. Again, best food in the area by far.
It was my sister's birthday, we didn't realize it was Homecoming for our High School but we made reservations earlier. Great food, decent price and great service. We were under dressed with the High Schoolers and dates dressing up for Homecoming. It really made the meal more festive.
My family dined here on Thursday and it was AMAAAZING. We sat in the bar area, our server Emily was simply THE BEST. She was so fast when getting our drinks and bread. I thought we were being served by the flash. She was very attentive and personable. The bartender also helped us & made a killer Lemon Drop Martini. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I love the tomato basil soup, I could drink it with a straw. If you plan on dining here, be sure to request Emily & tip her well. I wish all servers had the amazing attitude and work ethic she did ✨✨
Giovanni's is a fabulous Italian kitchen in Angleton, Texas with delicious food. I highly recommend if you are in the area. We ate there tonight 9/7/2023. I had my favorite dish the Shrimp Scampi... very flavorful and fabulous as always. Also, the cheesecake is to die for (had that too), and you can't forget about the wine or mixed drinks (had my fav a Lemon Drop). They also have one of the best waitresses in town, Emily. We request her every time. She is excellent... very friendly, attentive, and a hard worker. Stop in (make a reservation to be sure to get a spot), have some wine (drinks), eat a bite, and request Emily. You won't regret it.
Local Italian restaurant! with great ambiance. There are tables in the nice patio which is decorated with a lot of plants, like in a provenzal garden. Inside there is dimmed light, which make you feel some kind of romantic.
This is a perfect spot for a big Italian dinner. We tried the fish and it tasted fresh. The entrée comes with a salad or a soup. Also you can pick your side dish it can be angel spaghetti, spinach or mixed sautee vegetables. There are also, different wines if you like.
I felt like a Mob Boss eating like this Giovannis a Quant little Italian place in Angleton TX. We had the Steaks. The bread is made fresh and it's so good. You cant male a bad order here, everything is delicious.
This place is amazing. I stopped in on my way through town with no expectations and was blown away. The Chicken Marsala was the best I’ve ever had. Everything was excellent.
My server Emily was fantastic! Very nice and helpful, the food was delicious and high quality. Great little Italian restaurant you should definitely go and try.
A great Italian experience. The Greek pizza with a peculiar flavor where the taste of black olives stood out next to the feta cheese but giving the best demonstration the Italian pizza, as if it were made by the gods. Its flavor with cherry tomatoes take you to the maximum expression of the rich Italian flavor. A great companion was mussels in lemon sauce; an incredible flavor that you did not want to come out of your mouth, so also the tomato soups but with a spicy flavor. The only thing I do not recommend is tiramisu. The classic Italian dessert that I think must be an explosive one was not, it was not fresh. It was frozen, which instantly killed all its essence. And speaking of the service, it was a spectacular one. Ask for Stephanie Michelle. What can they improve on? number 1, in the dessert and number two, to know the wines so that they can give details of them. Anyway, yes, I would return. A quiet and familiar place. I loved
My husband and I had an unforgettable date night at Giovanni’s this week. The food was incredible and the service was top notch! We can’t wait to go back for our next date night to try more delicious food, wine and the best customer service! The picture is the Pollo Pazzo, Amazing
Had a birthday dinner with my husband.
Fabulous food, and the waitress was a sweetheart by adding a candle to my cake.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service. Wife and I loved it for date night! Go!
The food was amazing and service was quick and really good and i will be going back.
I was told to come here for pizza. Really good Italian food. Quality ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Price was higher than expected, though. For example, $25 for a 6-item pizza, but definitely worth an occasional treat. It did not disappoint.
Cannelloni trio with chicken, beef and sausage split with Alfredo and marinara sauce.
Tomato basil soup
Fresh baked focaccia & Olive oil for dipping.
Food was fresh and delightful.
We ordered to go during a work shift and they packaged it individually!
We went here for a family birthday. The food was excellent! I got the Cannelloni variety, and it was delicious. My wife got a large portion of ravioli, which was great as well. I could even eat their fresh, hot bread all day long. The portions are plentiful, but you probably will eat all of it, as it is so good. Great pastas and sauces as well. The Snapper dinner was enormous. The staff can also adjust any plate for special dietary needs, too.
The restaurant opens at 4 pm. Try it!
Giovanni’s is one of our favorite spots in Brazoria county. It feels so comfortable and the food is amazing. I get the crab cakes St Charles almost every time we visit. If you haven’t been, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
